I too was in the Lever camp but he just makes far too many mistakes and brain fades, especially this year.

I then had ANB as my next option but we know that won't be the case :(

Same boat Daz, i thought it'd be Gus to be honest, he just felt like he was our heart and soul since the 2021 flag, honestly it sounds strange but of the young guys, Van Rooyen nearly looks the most likely.

There is an old HAWKWIND song called

"YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT"

well I DO!

Which clubs actually have the capacity to trade for him?

Freo springs to mind, they're entering their window and have 3 x first round picks. Odds of me winning tattslotto probably better than Trac being a dokkah in 2025 though.

Hawks would be keen. But sounds like they're committed to bringing Barrass in which'll swallow up their picks.

GCS - see Freo

Most of the other Vic clubs either don't have picks (Pies), or do have picks but are in rebuild mode (Richmond). Then you have the teams in no mans land like Saints and Essendon which wouldn't be too exciting.

As I said before not many clubs would risk paying a fortune for a champion player who has suffered a very serious injury and his future playing ability is still unclear. We won’t get top draft picks and he won’t get top dollar as in his current contract with us if he goes.

Lol I reckon many clubs would pay a fortune for him regardless of his recent injury

Too young and doesn’t need the pressure of leading us during this

The loss of Burgess has been keenly felt, I reckon. He was the instigator of leaving Jackson on the field at the end of the third quarter (Bang, Bang, Bang) - Goody just sort of agreed and broke the news to Max. Our injuries and our management of them - I don't know enough to compare Griffith and Burgess, but I do know that we have had plenty of problems with injuries 2022 onwards. Getting Burgess back (dream on) would be a major victory for the club.

I agree, but we are low on options, outside of Gawn and Viney, it's unclear who the next in line would be at this point, Lever is a good leader but not sure he's the right fit, Trac, who knows where he's at, don't think Salo is really a leader either, plus not fit all the time

He does have something but putting him up now would ruin him.

Gawn will have to stay for at least 1 more year I think. Bring Rivers into the LG and move Trac out.

You’re rewriting history although I’d agree he was good at his job. We still have very few soft tissue injuries and it appears our preseason MAY of seen some poor application from some players. Others have noted that the Burgess method may have a time limit. Consistently playing through injury with our heavy contest method may of just burnt us out. Who knows?

I understand your captain doesn't need to be your best played but Ricardo Lever simply isn't good enough

A fitness guy having match day responsibility. Is this the case or common practise?

Serious question.

Where did you hear this? This seems like a bit of an overstep for the fitness guy.

The fact people are saying we should actually trade Petracca is wild.

Wild.

It's like some kind of self sabotage because they don't think we deserve nice things

I don't rate 'Fly' who has been incredibly lucky to be a premiership coach but he can GAGF with this garbage about puling Trac over to the filth: "“I’d bet he’d look good in black and white. I’ve got a car park here he can have too if he wants it,” McRae said in response to photoshopped images circulating of Petracca in the Collingwood guernsey.

It's conceivable that Trac could be a Pie in 2025...if Collingwood didn't waste a top 10 pick on a plodding small forward in Lachie Shultz

This is an entirely new take on what happened. Max's account is that he told Goody to let the kid run while he was hot. I tend to believe that version since it was the one told closest to the event.

We did burn out badly in finals after very strong seasons in 22/23.

That club. Grr. I wait for the day that something tragic happens.

Was this due to injury or fitness? My recollection was non fitness based  injuries

Even if we got Burgess back I don't think we'll ever have the kind of luck we had injury wise in 2021. Everything went right for us that year.

This is so disappointing on so many levels.

Serious question.

There was ‘the weapon’ at Essendon. Use to stand on the boundary line with Hird and be very involved.

I remember the week he was banished to sitting in some corner somewhere.

Good times.

Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
