The author has us taking Jagga Smith at 5 and Harry Armstrong at 9

He also has Tauru going to the Roos at 2 and Langford going to the Crows at 4

If this prediction came to fruition, I'm drooling at the thought of us being able to choose from Draper, FOS or Lalor. Would definitely be picking one of those three ahead of Jagga.

It’s a strong article and the journalist does know the footy youngsters quite well. I guess if footy journalism is your profession, you need to do some research.

I’d be amazed if the Crows picked Langford ahead of Draper.  But stranger things have happened!!

It’s actually a good “40”.  In fact it showcases how much talent and how deep this draft goes.
Players of high quality even outside this “40” are :
Kayle Gerryn - tall fwd/ruck - WA West Perth.
Harry O'Farrell - tall def - Calder.
Lachie Jacques - running half back - Geelong.
Nathaniel Sulzberger - tall midfielder- Sandringham/  Tassie.
Jack Ough - tall midfielder - GWV.
Josh Murphy - tall forward - Murray.
These guys should also be mid to late second round picks or at worst early third round picks.

Pick 5 I want a tall, well built mid.

Both Cripps and Bontempelli pre-draft profiles are particularly similar to Langford and Smillie. However the slightly shorter more versatile Lalor edges both out for me.

These 3 can also hit the scoreboard regularly which besides Trac we desperately need as well as to add some youth to an ageing midfield profile.

As for 11 I hope say Smillie slips. If not next best mid available. Hotton sounds like a potential gun.

It would be a reach at 9 but I don’t mind it as he could have a very high ceiling and looks a JT pick

He could be a consideration if we take a smaller mid like Smith or Draper at 5 and Langford and Smilie are gone

Links to Travaliga and a new one, Jack Whitlock too

No guarantees that we’ll pick one but I think it’s safe to say we’ve done a good hard look at the key forwards in this draft, and the medium forwards like Hynes too.

I don’t want to use a top 10 pick on him but Whitlock/s (both of them really) forward/ruck versatility would be handy.

Not getting enough respect in my opinion. Runner up in the Morrish medal behind Lindsay. Club co-captain. Best mates with Langford, could JT pull the trigger.
Have met him a few times as he is from down my way and is going out with a girl I coach. A good size and frame also a real grounded, level headed kid. Yes we have spoken to him several times.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. One to watch in 2024. Date of Birth: 7 March 2003 Height: 191cm Games MFC 2024: 15 Career Total:  15 Goals MFC 2024: 0 Career Total:  0 Games CDFC 2024: 6 Goals CDFC 2024: 0

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress.
