I'd love top 4, but I'll take top 8 and winning 1 or 2 finals. Particularly if Trac doesn't get back. It's intriguing that he isn't listed as out for the season, but out indefinitely.

From a media report on the evening of 28th September 2024:

"Melbourne took Sydney by surprise with the unexpected late inclusion of Christian Petracca, who spent the entire game in the goal square and whose match winning ten goals earned him a second Norm Smith Medal."

They interviewed him after the game on Channel 7 and on Melbourne FC, and he looked like he'd just got back from a walk around the block when in fact he had just finished a game of footy having run almost 2km further than the next bloke. Absolute freak, and immense weapon for us when we use him this way (100% game time off the far wing running goalpost to goalpost).

What an awesome, gritty and determined win by the MFC.

Welcome back Clarry.

Welcome back Fritta

Goody I’m not a huge fan but well done.  Credit where it’s due.

Now rinse and repeat against Freo next week.

GO DEES

Yep yep and yep

I think many are undervaluin the return of Milky... his footy is silky ;)

I find it somewhat ironic that it all 'clicked' ...in the rain !!

May it belt down for all the rest of our games :)

Explain this to me Nathan Willamson. How is this not the purest 50 metre penalty you’ve ever seen?

The umpiring in the last quarter is currently like watching a different game.

100%. Shocking to just ignore the ball being flung away carelessly not back to the opponent as per the rules. Could've helped us lock it further up field in the dying moment too etc. The umpiring in the last quarter was disgracefully biased towards Essendon. Was akin to match fixing.

It won’t get a mention because we won but if we had lost this should be getting the same level of attention as the NM- Collingwood non-50.

I cannot fathom any reason for the umpire not to pay this.

Because Nathan Williamson is more worried about getting his 90s boy band hair on tv than being an actually good umpire who makes consistent logical decisions.
The fact that I know his name and number means he’s a rubbish umpire.

He is honestly one of the best athletes that's played the game. Get him to the Olympics to run the track events but bring him back for Melb games, probably won't even break a sweat.

Terrific win. I’m glad I went to the game in the end even if it was with a Bombers supporter mate.

I know we conceded the last 4 but it didn’t really feel like a 7 goal win, more like a 5 goal win so to give up 2 more than that is only a slight disappointment.

Oliver, Windsor, Rivers, McVee, Turner, JVR all huge. I thought it was a really even performance. Petty got smashed in the ruck and wasn’t great up forward but I think we need him for next week to occupy Freo’s defence.

How true.

Seriously think we would have won a flag and be second possies right now had he not gone down last year before finals.

Well we found out that Goodwin has a plan B, we can play in the wet and our contest game is still one of the best in the game.

Kozzie, Riv and Langdon were simply superb. Roo was great, Windsor, McVee and even Tholstrup were relentless and provided spark and excitement as did AMW

Disco is a great kick, TMac is solid and Melk is just a brilliant competitor. Oliver started to show glimpses of his old self and Nibbler shut down their Captain. May was back to being a rock

We are forming a strong belief at the right time of the season and despite Gawn and Petracca, are relatively healthy.

A tough few weeks ahead but we are in with a shot.

Avos are reserved for Essendon only. $50 - $80 for Collingwood (depending on level of hate at the time) and $20 for all others. 👍🏽

Funny you should mention his hair, Jaded. Ryan, our awesome chant-leader, was told by security at a match earlier this year that Williamson had officially complained about Ryan calling him “Haircut.” 😂 Ryan has been pulled up on many occasions for ‘umpire abuse’ something we’re forbidden to do. It’s due to the usual non-complimentary descriptions, but never something like “Haircut” 😅😅😅

If he complained about that, I can imagine his displeasure at some of the lovely things I was telling him to do last night.

I really hope you don't have to work today WCW.

Work???? I’m lucky just to be walking around today. I’m sore all over and bruised in the weirdest places, from freezing my saturated @zz off and wielding heavy wet props with zero feeling in my purple hands, dancing to our awesome drum (played by a 10yo boy, mind you) jumping around with same-level nuffies, falling over and falling off (kids- never stand on wet slippery seats no matter how excited you are) and the long walk home coz I missed the last bus. But you know what??!! I WOULDN’T CHANGE A FREAKING THING.

Beating Essendon is worth every bruise, every sore muscle, and frostbitten toes. 😁🥳🕺🪩🥰

Same umpire who paid that horrible deliberate out of bounds and the throw against McDonald.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
