Is Fullarton playing?

He’s out there, but the Casey coach would be asking the same question

Are you confusing him with Kynan Brown? Stronger body than Schache. Real chance he plays in the next couple of weeks.  His accuracy is an asset. Presented really well against a decent North defence.

got yr eyes open? jefferson is skinny as it gets for a key forward

nowhere near ready for afl yet - big pre-season in the gym required

el jefe not fullarton

I’ve only started watching in the 3rd quarter but with all the calls to play him I thought he might at least get a shepherd in 25 minutes of football.

My humblest apologies.  For some reason I regularly confuse the names of Jefferson and Fullarton.  The latter is a bust. The former will debut soon.

Our hit rate on these players goes a bit of a way to explaining our present woes

Please tell me I'm wrong but did we extend Schache until the end of 2025?

funny thing is - i mean el jefe! πŸ€£

he's too skinny for afl and fullarton is not good enough for afl

brown's skinniness is not an issue cos he's about 20cm shorter, not a key position player, and plays with a ragged intensity reminiscent of well, his dad

Verrall showing a bit more presence this half.

Verrall showing a bit more presence that quarter.

His time is up! He has has many chances but isn’t up to it..

Not even a back up option anymore (or ever)

For those knocking Fullerton, he and Verrall are taking (long) turns on the ball/bench. Fullerton was vg in 1st and Verrall was vg in 3rd. They have both spent long minutes on the bench at other times

IMO it's only a matter of time before we see Jeffo, AMW and Verrall in the seniors.

Correct. Jeffo might have a taste this year if his Casey form is more consistent. But it will just be a taste and it won’t be against Brisbane at the Gabba

KB has so far only had a taste and I’d be surprised if he plays too often unless there’s more injuries.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win β€” something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
