Any doctors in the house who can shed some light on whether the two medical events are related, or a completely unfortunate coincidence?

some are done as a day case, especially in the morning.   Other than his splenic injury he would (if uncomplicated) be back in a week or three.

If it’s not a complicated case would usually go home after an overnight stay. Most of my patients aren’t elite athletes but for someone who is fit could usually play in a week or two. Obviously not a problem for Trac and they might be more cautious with things like antibiotics for longer given his spleen.

It was reported that Christian was resuming some light running earlier last week. Does anyone know if this actually happened?

Well, no one seems to verify that Tracc did resume light running. WCW, maybe you can answer this one?

It was reported in the media (The Age) last week. He's starting light running which he's very excited about. When asked will he be back for the later finals if Melbourne were in it he said he's strictly no contact for 3 - 4 months. (Which I took as meaning if we're in the GF he'll play out of the square and kick 6)

Thanks for that Rooster. Living in Perth I miss out on all the latest. Love your sense of humour. Cheers.

Speaking about that [censored], it's going to be an interesting watch V Carlton to see if the thug comes out primed for their do or die game. Hope he gets cleaned up by Harry.

No - they will use Cripps.  Immune from prosecution.

Love it, but Trac has lost a lot of condition and muscle…

Which is to be expected after not one but two internal organs had to be operated on.
He is coming off a much better base than most and will be back to his best physical self soon enough.
It’s the mental side of things that will be much harder to “train” I think.

It’s a significant change in a short time though Jaded.

Trac has always had big thighs. Even when he was drafted. It’s why he has such explosive power.

It is what i think every pre-season - so am sure its not that bad. I thought it would have been harder to keep the weight off without the exercise. Those with Mediterranean upbringings will know what i mean. Mum and Nonna would have been having daily bake-offs to ensure whatever Trac had lost weight wise would be put back on with a bit extra.

It is, which is why anyone delusional enough to think he could play again this year needs to put those thoughts to bed.
He is listed as “indefinite” for a very good reason. There are no guarantees of when he will return to AFL.

True, but getting the muscle back is what is going to take months.

I worry he will be coming back from a poor base preseason, although muscle memory kicks in very quickly for sports ppl.

Totes agree. It will be the mental/emotional demons he will battle. He was a beast on field prior.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
