Well all now the first 1 minutes if Melbourne are going to turn up.

Our bottom 6 players will determine if we win today.

Billings, Laurie, Turner, Howe’s, Chandler & Tom “Free Fallin” Petty.

What, like last week when we looked completely on in the first 10 mins then proceeded to [censored] the bed for the following 3.5 quarters? :P

Slipper? SLIPPER!!!! How about hobnailed boot, whatever that is, sounds painful though. 😛
🥾🥾

As mentioned previously I will bail you out WCE -don’t hold back.

Glad Jvr is back. Surely Fritta is due for a bag or Kozzie?

Come on fwds do your job. Same to Mids. Fire up

I suspect we will be competitive for three quarters and probably beaten in the last.

We have certainly painted ourselves into a corner talking this one up.

Love this place when people come in to offer some insight whether that's through their sources or whatever and get absolutely smashed for passing on information.

Classic Demonland.

Lol, mate, you do the exact same thing.

Not a gambler but noticed just now Dee's firming still.

Fascinating

Apparently the club took heed to last weeks issues and the boys are getting a mani and pedi as we speak.

The bookies are worried about being out of pocket after seeing the red and blue nail polish being delivered by Uber. 🤭

I have a ticket that I’m not using today. DM me

No doubt all the Pies morons at the ground will be in full [censored] mode.

Huge game.

With our insipid performance last week we have put ourselves under huge pressure - both in terms of our effort levels being rightfully knocked all week and the need for the four points.

But the pies also desperately need a win to keep in touch with the 8.

We played poorly in our previous losses, but the freo game was different.

Understanably, there has been some strong comments and condemnation on dl this week.

But i dont take anything from last week in terms of our game plan, sytems, personel and lines.

Apply that level of effort and any meaningful analysis is superfluous.

But this is goody's 8th season as coach and that was the only time under goody that we appeared to give up.

They have earned the benefit of the doubt.

But they get that benefit just once.

I'm super excited.

I am firmly of the view that in terms of method our plan is to revert to our normal method, with improvements to our turnover game, come the end of the season.

I think we will revert to that model today. Forward half, contest based, win the inside 50 count football (and go back to a more transition based game against the roos).

Basically the same model we employed the last time we played the pies.

And I suspect we have long set ourselves for this game, and planned accordingly in terms of our high performance program.

I hope I'm right. We will know if I am pretty early I reckon.

Just get the job done Demons. Hit them hard when the opportunity is there. Real Hard

IMG_6523.jpeg

From our named fwd line of Jvr, Fritta, Petty, Chandler, Kozzie and Anb we have averaged 40 points.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Tmac moved again. Something has to change

Don't share your optimism Binman. Wheels are off for mine. Can't see us kicking a winning score. Pies by 10 goals.

Carlton also 2nd on the ladder playing our exact 2023 game plan but with some better forwards. Just shows it still goes alright. Will be great to see the contest and territory game back today.

If we win by any amount, it will be a win for the ages.

we have Turner as well. no need to stress! 😬

for the Pies, only Schultz and Daicos bros got multiple goals last week

Just listened to Richo on SEN.

He didn’t say this in so many words but it felt as though there’s a concession from the club that we’ve overreacted from our 2 finals (where we dominated in either scoring shots or entries) and that we’re quite frankly struggling to adapt to a game plan focused on connectivity.

Be interesting if we’ve drawn a line in the sand of if we persist with whatever we’re doing.

Just [censored] win. I cannot deal losing to them again after what happened last year 😡

We are a curious mob, us passionate footy fans

Many dees fans are hoping we go back to a game plan that last year many hated and wanted to see the back of.

This is better than listening to BT.

One of the true highlights of following this club was this blokes post match interview.

Please just play for each other and do this for Gus.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
