A win is great, and I don’t want to be that guy but we will need to be a lot better against the Dockers and the Pies. Good in patches, but sloppy in others.

Having said that, Maxy, a million points for his performance. TMac and Tommo good, May good late. Good to see Roo get a few on the board. Kozzie was dangerous and very good in the middle.

Bank the win, but gotta sharpen up from here.

maxy best. viney very good as well

Viney excellent. Mr dependable

Junk time goals that should not have happened but,

that was a different team with a different attitude to last week,

Good response Dees. We’re in 4th position after 11 rounds which is essentially half way. Could be much worse like being Brisbane.

Also have Saints improved anything under Lion? They look as average as ever at the moment

They looked at his foot, but supposedly more precaution than an injury.

Well it definitely hasn’t been from overuse this season

Max Gawn forgot he was a 'only' a ruck again.

Led the game for clearances and score involvements, at 88% disposal efficiency.

Nod to Nibbler who continues to turn his workrate into real effect.

Nod to Viney who held the sludge-wave under control during the grotty second quarter when our midfield was well under expectations.

And a smile and a nod to Salem who has probably done himself a world of good by having such a busy and effective day.

Most importantly, a much shorter 'tail' this week compared to a number of recent games.

Kozzie's baby has ear protectors on.  Gets pretty noisy in there for a little bub.

I thought Christian Salem continued his midfield form despite chopping disposal a little

100 points on the scoreboard 🤩

Are you one of these people who play Footy without keeping scores, so that people don’t get offended?

The History of St Kilda has no parallel to the MFC

You need to do some research sunshine ☀️

How old is Max jnr?

He looks pretty big already.

George is three later this year.  After the season is over.

Max should be put out to pasture with Lauren Jackson after he retires.

I’ll buy a share and love the F/s when he debuts and wins a premiership

Makes sense. I thought he was younger. Tx.

Good to see all the dads with the little ones.

Tommo great inclusion. Max just huge as always. Petty and McAdam can go in the bin.

It's McAdams 2nd game, it's going to take time. You need to go in the bin.

Not really thrilled.

Poor last quarter.

The 3 goals against cost us 3rd spot on the ladder by %.

Sounds trivial?

It isn't and wont be come final time.

Very pleased to be wrong about this one I though the Saints would give us a real scare but apart from that burst in the 2nd we cruised through

Let it go you fool. You can’t let go and get out of your black and white, single lane thinking.

Saints have not won a premiership since 1966. Prior to 2021, our club hadnt won since 1964. I’ll  let you ponder on that one. PM me for the answer

How about having empathy for the under dogs, the ones who have struggled. The underdogs. That should be relatable to you.

Hilarious 🤣

Anyway, my earlier reservations aside, I want to note that we came to win, and that is what we did. That’s important. My positives are that we looked happy out there, as if last week was an aberration. We had moments of brilliance and I hope the boys carry that forward as I still think our best can beat anyone.

Go Dees ❤️💙

People need to really lighten up a bit & enjoy a40 point win.

We’re not head & shoulders above anyone in the competition, we’re in 4th position & will be fighting it out when the whips are cracking with about 12 other teams

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
