Great work Andy.  Thanks!  Is K. Brown with the forwards?  Is he involved and looking sharp?

Clarry in long sleeves.

Not so much sunscreen to apply.

Bowser.  That’s interesting.

Is there anything of significance in that observation that the Herald Sun can use to base another story about the club and its culture?

As @ANG13 mentioned it saves on sunscreen so theoretically the HS could run a story that we are in financial strife by skimping on sunblock.

Oliver forced to wear long sleeves as Demons face financial ruins. More to come.

Thanks Andy appreciate your efforts it’s great to be in loop.😁

He's absolutely outstanding near the sticks. His best attribute as a footballer.

I wish he could have more opportunities further up the field.

Guessing Hunter and Spargo won't be playing tomorrow night and thus round zero?

Baring any hitches the 23 that trained today will be the starting 23 tomorrow night and with the exception of Kozzy (and fingers crossed no injuries) will likely be the 22 for Opening Round. With Kozzy out of OR there is a spot up for grabs so perhaps it could be Clarry. Also someone could impress in the 2s tomorrow and claim a spot.

Thanks Andy, was Ben Brown training?

No. He was not amongst the 2s players training separately from the 1s. I named him in the list of players not training with either the 1s or the 2s.

Hmm. On paper that is not a forward line worthy of finals. Take Kozzy out for our opening game and it's bottom 6 stuff.

I would hope we're gonna see some Petracca forward early in the season like we did for periods last year, but with Angus gone and Clarry out for now, we aren't deep at centre bounce or stoppages either.

I'm trying to be positive, but there's definitely some worry for the first 5-10 rounds of the season.

Positively, there's huge room for us to improve up forward if we can get the likes of Petty and McAdam fit. I really hope Woewodin is ready to play soon too.

No Verrell so assume that Schache will be the backup ruck.

That's a pity...

Just on McAdam and his injury.

I went to training over a month ago when McAdam was jogging along the boundary presumably after he first sustained this current injury and was just beginning his rehab. From my untrained eye he does not look that much further along in his recovery. Granted at that time he looked uncomfortable and today he didn't look uncomfortable but I have no idea how far away he is from returning to full training. That first training session I reported him running laps could have been a few days ago. Melksham looked fitter and more ready to return to training than McAdam in my uneducated opinion. To quote the Castle "It's just the Vibe". I have no medical training and I don't know if there has been a relapse or recurrence of the injury or perhaps that's just how he runs so make of that observation what you will.

Appreciate your reports, Andy.  Like most of us, I'm ready for footy again.

At this stage it looks like a close race between Verrall and Fullarton for the ignominy of having their surnames continually misspelled.  (The crown is vacant with the retirement of Bradshaw.)

Sam Edmund on SEN says Clayton will feature in the VFL scratch match prior to the AFL scratch match.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
