Adelaide throwing the toys out of the cot....

First we didn't let them have Clarry, now we won't let them take Petty.

Poor Crom.

Petts so important to this teams success. He's looking like the best key forward we've had since Hogan

Yes, he's looked great up forward but it's only a few matches, a tiny sample size. We would need to see how he goes over the longer term, and in particular how he goes once opposition clubs start working him out and putting some time into him both onfield and in how they prepare for him.

Still, would hate to lose him.

His price will never be this high again…

Fascinating

Petty isnt going anywhere  $1m or $50m its irrelevant. Petty is contracted till end of 2025 season.

Petty hasnt said anything publicly has he? Sick of the crows trying to poach our contracted key players.

Lets try and poach Walker. See how they like it.

Dont want McAdam anymore.

Dont want any ex Crows polluting our club. Hes an ordinary player anyway.

Melbourne better not get sucked in by Pettys greasy manager and pay massive overs beyond '25. Bulldogs panicked bigtime with Naughton possibly going to the Swans.

Petty could break down again which will dramatically affect his value.

It will be higher next year if he kicks 50 goals

If his foot injury is strong enough for a full Season?

Depends what The Croms are prepared to put up

If Essendon pay McKay $800 the Petty should be on $1.6M

That was pure good old tampering. Norf gets their ridiculous compensation while Essendon keeps their high draft pick (they have enough cap space to offer this ridiculous amount of money to the "bad" McKay).

I've wanted to not believe it because i love Petts, but this has been bubbling in the background for over a month.

1m a year we can't compete with that, i reckon he's as good as gone.

Firstly we can compete with that. We have plenty of cap space. Secondly he is contracted. He cannot be “gone” unless we choose to trade him.

Based off absolutely nothing, I think this is Pettys manager trying to get a better deal for Petty at the Dees. Melbourne isnt trading Petty this year. And if we dont trade him I suspect a contract extension announcement will be happening before Kings Birthday next year.

What has become apparent over the last couple of days, is how little people in the media know about Harrison Petty's ability.

Barrett and Dal Santo talking as if he's some unproven rookie. Laughable.

There is a reason the Crows (who have notoriously underpaid for players in the past) have tabled such a big contract in front of Petty.

Must keep.

Must keep our core premiership team at all cost.

We have only lost Harmes and Jackson so far. Harmes unfortunately was no longer required and Jackson abandoned ship.

Sadly I have to agree with you, there’s too much smoke to be nothing….

when playing, he’s one of my favourites.  Will be a massive loss.

Crows don't have the draft capital to get it done

That's what im affraid of, I've been afraid of this day coming since 2021.

Out of all of our players he is the one they are creaming over.

(Plus Clarry😂)

I mentioned it when it came up to start with, this is all driven by his management, who ever is in charge he has been driving it along with that slime ball Justin Reid.

Don't get me wrong I'm not happy with this, i will be contacting the club via email like i did with Clarry's situation.

I encourage my fellow demonlanders to do the same.

We're completely stuffed if Petty leaves. No depth in tall stocks at either end of the ground.

Got to get a fair bit in return next year for a 2 time Premiership player and current Coleman medallist.

He wont be leaving, just Adelaide journos looking for clickbait.

When do Barret and Morris ever miss an opportunity to stir strife at MFC. [censored].

If Harry Petty is being offered money like that i'd expect a formal trade request very soon

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
