Tell you what, if this is another instance which turns out to be pure media smoke there comes a point where an AFL player can seek legal redress for harassment.

Melbourne is hogging the limelight but for all the wrong reasons with Clayton Oliver hogging the limelight.

• What would it take to get a deal done for Clayton Oliver?

• Top 5 destinations for Clayton
Oliver

• Josh Gabelich on the Port ruck situation

• Some murmurs on Melbourne's Harrison Petty

• Callum Mills and his off-season mishap

There has also been some talk about the trade value for Brodie Grundy with the pundits suggesting that his trade value has plummeted because Melbourne refused to pick him in the finals.

It's entirely possible the Club is letting this nonsense carry on as it might give Clayton a kick up the bum. 'no one is off limits for a trade'

Not saying its true but its possible. Almost what we did this with Watts a few years back before actually trading him. He was told to lose weight, commit to training etc etc

In the end they ran out of patience.

Well his trade value didn't go up by spending half the season at Casey. Media are just stating the obvious.

I would have loved Naughts at our club but not at that Price, Bulldogs paying overs big time on the deal.

Don't you just love the Swans trade methods?😂

Naughton signing for $10M for 8 years makes JUH's contract negotiations next year interesting.

Some pundits rate JUH above Naughton

What!!  Has that been confirmed?

Thats insanity. The Bont wouldnt be on more than that. Wheres the money coming from for all the other 40 + players.

Naughton has yet to prove himself as a gun fwd. He kicks less than 2 goals a game... 11 points ave.

Considering Bulldogs always lose a bunch of games annually-including 2016 - and by middle to big margins hes not going to make the difference kicking 11 points. WTF.

Kane Cornes will blow a gasket.  LOL.

AFL clubs are run by idiots.

Another massive salary dump on the cards.

The Swans were the big movers today, landing Brodie Grundy and Taylor Adams in respective deals with Melbourne and Collingwood, plus Dylan Stephens is now a Roo after a busy day at the trade table for Sydney.

• Grundy is officially a Sydney player, joining the Swans from Melbourne. The Demons have received pick 46 in this year's draft as well as Sydney's second-round pick next year in exchange for sending the ruckman to the Harbour City.

• Sydney has added a hard edge to its midfield, completing a deal with Collingwood to land Magpies vice-captain Taylor Adams, with the deal going through in exchange for pick No.33.

• Stephens has joined North Melbourne in a trade whereby the Swans also parted with pick 25 and received North's end of first-round pick next year plus its pick 44 this year.

• Zac Fisher is heading to the Roos along with pick 17 and the Blues get picks 21 & 25 in return.

• in a massive trade, Melbourne trades picks 14, 27 and 35 in exchange for pick 11. In the trade, Adelaide will land Gold Coast’s Chris Burgess and pick 14 in exchange for picks 23 and 26, North Melbourne will get pick 18 in exchange for an end of 2004 first round pick, Gold Coast gets picks 23, 26, 27, 35 and an end of 2004 first round pick for picks 11, 18 and  Burgess.

In addition to the above -

This second point

Fremantle with 3 first rounders of 2024

they must be serious about something next year.   Is there a number one next year from the west or someone going home?

And can we benefit ?

a long time to look ahead I know

but it’s contemplating time

Acquiring assets to facilitate a fair trade isn't really Peter Bell's MO, but the two big WA names that come to mind are Logan McDonald and Tim English.

It’s the penultimate day of the Trade Period, Magpies forward Jack Ginnivan requested a surprise trade, with Hawthorn set to make a move, Shane McAdam was traded to Melbourne from Adelaide, while Port confirmed they are prepared to use pre-season and national draft picks to secure Esava Ratugolea and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher if needed.

When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
