Elijah Hollands

Interestingly, his younger brother, Ollie Hollands has been a first year revelation as a winger for Carlton. Shorter and much thinner than Elijah but Ollie is a real competitor, may not look it but is tough as nails, not afraid of contests and will run all day.

Ollie has had a good debut year for sure. Very different type of player as a hard running wirey winger. He was always seen as the less talented of the two, but he’s shown a competitive nature that Elijah hasn’t. Perhaps a fresh environment for Elijah could unlock that…

Would love to get this kid, but not paying a lot for him.  Think he would be a great mid/fwd under the correct coaching.

I think it could be and after thought after we are done trading for picks, although could be involved in us trying to get pick 4 of GC.

When I followed his draft he had figjam written all over him.

Another kid with a lot of tattoos ????

Would be interested if it were a late mid to late third round pick. A 21-year old who went pick 7 and can’t break into the Suns side should be met with caution.

Why ET better than a pick 47 who can't make it. He may never have the skills. History might show a No 7 has some very good attributes but for various reasons isn't comfortable in the environment. He may be squeezed out with the midfielders "club" of say Rowell Anderson Miller etc. for example we don't know.

There  is no right or wrong with recruiting unless some issues arise from history and are not changeable. We have shown we are a very good Club with a great culture and taking a chance on a talented youngster who May have an ego is hardly like a much injured player with a fitness issue. Both are solvable and we can't have too many "problem child's" I agree.

if he fits a need on our list ( not sure of his physique or body details) but he started off kicking goals from half forward I seem to recall. He may be happier here in Melbourne with his brother and possibly his family.

A player is not a No 7 for nothing so keep an open mind and it's up to JT and Lambie to check out I say.

hindsight brigade

I feel like the sun's are going to have a tough time getting the "right price" for a top 10 pick after giving away a top 10 pick in Bowes and a first rounder for a half eaten dim sim last year.

I'd the suns hold him another year and he doesn't crack the team, he's going to cost as almost nothing at the trade table.

He could be on the move for less than the right price.

Not to mention longterm setting a precedent with trading out the likes of Peter Wright and Will Brodie for pocket fluff.

Pass. Has struggled to break into a poor team and then not really shown anything to excite at AFL level when he played. Much better options out there for midfield and flank depth.

Flanders I would be keen on however.

To be fair, Flanders also struggled to break into the same team, when he got in he went BANG though haha

I think Jason Taylor and the MFC recruiting team would have the best knowledge on Elijah Hollands. Did he Dominate any games for Gold Coast at VFL level?

Some players just need a 2nd chance at a new AFL Club to thrive.

Whether it is at the Melbourne Demons or another AFL Club we shall have to wait and see. 🤷🏼‍♂️

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
