They could possibly do this if Carlton decides they’ve had enough

GWS are going to throw the kitchen sink at Carlton… would be very bad if a certain full forward got injured in the next 30 minutes.

A lot of Giants fans at Marvel today. at least 50 i reckon.

Carlton's best is very good, but their worst is horrible.

Looking forward to Gerard Whateley's power rankings now. He's been riding the Carlton horse very hard for weeks. Surely it's time to roll back that choice.

Carlton of 2023 is Melbourne of 2018. If they're lucky they get to skip their 2019, but even so they'll still need some experience and no pandemic to come good next year.

I really hope Carlton go back to their old selves. They need a jolly rogering after two weeks ago.

Toby Bedford is having such a good year. I wish we could have kept him.

He looks like he had a good weights session over the pre-season, looks much stronger this year.

Yes I was sorry to see Toby leave, but IMO Chin is a better player for the team and structure.

Feels like any team with good pace and skills will oblierate Carlton come finals.

Bruise free Blues.

never pay any attention to a blues defender when deciding whether touched or not. They are liars

Way to go Blues, you're useless

Are you saying this as though it is a bad thing?

How much will the Giants need to win by to pass the Saints into 6th?

now just need 1 more goal

Giants pumping the Blues whilst thinking about the Bulldogs.

I'm low-key rapt the Doggies are out of the finals now too.

We were even after the prelim of 2021, and in fact I recall the dogs were favourites.

Fast forward 2 years and they really need to re-examine what they're doing. I think it starts at the top and they need to get rid of Luke Beveridge. Nothing against him and nothing against the dogs, but he's been there a long time and has a coaching style that wears thin after all the tricks have been used.

Interesting offseason for them (yes I'm aware this isn't the kennel but I have opinions about the dogs).

I hope the Swans beat Carlton next week.

Hell yeah

Carlton have gotten a bunch of so-called "A-graders" back in the past couple of weeks but have lost a lot of their magic edge. Very close to 3 losses in a row.

I hope for Carlton's sake that Michael Voss takes a microscope to the last 3 weeks and identifies which of the big names should play VFL until they can bring what the lesser lights are able to do with such good success for the past 10 weeks.

What’s his coaching style @Chook

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
