layzie 34,528 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 In other news sure to stir the pot I'm happy to see Tex Walker take the lead in the Coleman. Gives us something to watch if our game is a dead rubber. 1 Quote
Demon Jack 7,194 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Gee, Tex is so good to watch when he's on. 9.4 tonight takes him to 76 goals for the season. Sam Taylor has a big job on Curnow tomorrow. 2 Quote
layzie 34,528 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Some good players exiting West Coast in Hurn, Shuey and Nic Nat. All great to watch over the journey. Quote
No. 31 1,404 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Carlton to defeat GWS, Bulldogs and then the Pies ... Quote

Curnow has not been held goalless all season and last time Carlton played GWS in Sydney, Curnow kicked 2 so I would say the odds are in Charlie's favour for Coleman Medal No. 2. He needs 1 goal to draw level with Tex, 2 goals to win it outright. Quote
layzie 34,528 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 I hope he's kept goalless just quietly. 3 Quote

I could see it happen too. The Dogs have heaps of finals experience and are a different side in September. Carlton have started to dip and are finals virgins-so-to-speak. One of the only times you'll find me barracking for Footscray. Quote

It's been an awesome resurgence and I'll be happy to see him finally make the AA team. Was hard being a key forward in the time of Buddy, Hawkins, Jack R and Josh Kennedy but he's had s great career. Such a shame the Croms have been denied Finals, purely because of AFL Pig Headed incompetence Adelaide would be far more entertaining than Footscray 3 Quote
Willmoy1947 4,261 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Brisbane faced a very determined St Kilda to day but the maggots ensured the Saints didn't really have any chance. In so doing Brisbane, i think, have two consecutive home games. Quote

Had almost 50 more free kicks to their opposition in the 2016 finals series, the Grand Final itself being the tip of the iceberg, especially in the last half when the game was on the line. The one Premiership I genuinely look back at and think, that wasn’t just. 2 Quote

Tex was very getable too at the end of 2022. No club wanted to touch him though for PR reasons after that incident which saw him banished and publicly shamed. We should have offered him a contract, he would have come knowing it was a more likely route to success in the final stages of his career. Quote

They look an unhappy team. 2 Quote
Bring-Back-Powell 15,549 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Saints supporters would be barracking for us today. If we win, they’ll get a home final in Melbourne. If we lose, not only do they have to go to Sydney in week 1 (unless GWS win by 11 goals) they’ll also have to travel to the loser of Port or Brisbane in week 2. Quote
DeeMee 924 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 How much would Port have to win by to take 2nd off Brisbane? Quote
