What they are saying at Arden Street

Definitely going to have to try this. I'm all about the Pinot/red wine casks.

Been meaning to join the Whisky club for years. More than happy to get a decent whisky each month for reasonable $.

You can opt out each month too. We do t get them every month but occasionally get a real nice bottle as an add in.

to bring it back to the topic at hand...

  • With no proper chf
May, lever and Tomlinson are going to destroy larkey and get a intercept mark record

  • Clarko's first squad since returning, and the following things are notable:
    • Cunnington in
    • Turner not dropped (at least not immediately - still listed in squad)
    • McDonald and Stevenson still named as starting on the field
    • Not that it matters greatly, but Sheezel named in the Centre is interesting
    • Tucker named in the forward line - believe that might be a first?
    • No Cooper Harvey
  • Anyone that pays attention to where people are named on the field is an [censored]. People who actually have the ability to pay attention know we do stupid things like name Powell at CHB. Its all cause our media department run a weekly comp to name the team, so we make the correct answer obscure. But you know, anyone with such a great ITK that tells you Noble wasn't getting sacked right before he got sacked would know what the club actually does.
  • 40 points is just about party time territory. Last time we played these lads, in a 90 point loss, I high fived a bloke in front of me who was the only North fan in a Godees entourage. We were both delighted at everyone's fury that the margin ended up being under 100. Only time I'll ever be content with such a ****house performance

gotta say, love that last one - i remember feeling like that just a decade or so ago!

Have l opened the wrong thread???

On the roos equivalent of dl, there's probably a very meta thread about the what they are saying arden st thread on dl that has devolved into a thread about high end whiskey, which as they rightly suggest could only happen on mfc related forum.

They have no concern about this game. They’re talking whiskey for gods sake. We are a joke! 😂

Further to this… last night Sophie (one of our three AMAZING leaders) told me that in 2013 if we lost a match by anything under five goals the cheer squad would sing the song. 😢

In that era I would consider anything under a 10 goal loss as a moral victory.

Fast forward to round seven this year and some Demonlanders were upset that we beat North by ONLY 90 points!!! 🙃

Both of those do not exist… only whiskey with the e comes from Ireland or the US iirc, Japan and Scotland it’s whisky. It’s to do with the grains used. See, learning is fun with whisky! 😃😃😄😄

Talisker for me

Although if I'm going to nurse a fair few,  a good speyside malt like the Balvenie is hard to go past

Love the Speyside single malts.

Do yourself a favour and get on the Macallan 12 y.o sherry cask. Sweetness.

For sure. Macallan is high class. I don't believe I've had the Shery cask but have had a few bottles over the years

Talisker is my clan whiskey and from loyalty to the fine folk of Skye, is difficult to sidestep when buying a bottle of scotch.

2024 Player Reviews: #35 Harry Petty

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. One to watch in 2024. Date of Birth: 7 March 2003 Height: 191cm Games MFC 2024: 15 Career Total:  15 Goals MFC 2024: 0 Career Total:  0 Games CDFC 2024: 6 Goals CDFC 2024: 0

2024 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

2024 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. 2024 Player Reviews: #40 Taj Woewodin

The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress. Bowey’s season was curtailed early when he sustained a shoulder injury that required surgery in the opening game against Sydney. SLIP SLIDING AWAY by Meggs

It was a sweaty, slippery night at Cazalys Stadium, a tough slog with low scoring and missed opportunities.  The Hokball Hawks hung on to win by a goal and sit second on the ladder, relegating the disappointed Demons to, almost certainly, finals spectators.   We had to win this match. When news broke of late withdrawals of talisman Kate Hore and key back Gaby Colvin, expectations plummeted, and Demon fans despaired.  The bad news was the signature song of 2024, a season that’s
