You know what young punks are like these days... 😅

Just facts darling.

The point is, the prevailing attitude from the residents was there is bugger all to do in Perth.

Which caravan park did you stay in with Mummy and Daddy when you were in Perf 20 years ago.
There is a few dicey ones around.

I was in some fancy hotel in the city with a bunch of footballers including some then-soon-to-be AFL players and a former Brownlow medallist, funnily enough. Also spent some time in Margaret River on that trip.

My younger brother (21 yrs of age) is over there playing WAFL footy and living a bachelor life with his best mate from the bush.

He absolutely loves it and reckons its the best move he's made. Reckons the weather is unreal and some great night spots.

It’s a narrow view and may speak more of where and who you were socialising with.

You’re talking 20 years ago, but even then clear didn’t venture to Freo, Cott or Scarborough on a Sunday.

Perth Demons under Germo mate.

Been a real struggle this season unfortunately.

I think the narrow view you speak of may be more appropriate than your own, considering the demographic and company I kept would be very similar to what Harley would find himself in.

And no, I didn’t venture to Freo, Cott or Scarborough then (on a Sunday at least) but I did 4 years ago & there wasn’t much change.

Each to their own.

My brother is near Cotts and ventures down to Scarborough a fair bit.

Probably explains why he's loving it??

As I said - I would agree now!

Changing tastes. Just a lot quieter than I liked at that age, but then again I was a fan of the big cities that don’t sleep.

How to derail a thread in 3 easy steps...

I see Brad Scott has been caught waxing lyrical over Harley on 360.

The club is septic, some changes have occurred but a lot more required.

I was involved there last season and have many Perth followers as mates and after being in the inner workings of the club was able to see a number of the issues. Very similar to us under Schwabby and the boys club.

A lot of self preservation amongst the group behind many of the long term issues and until they move on it won’t change. I’m aware there’s conflict between Germo and the FM and that’s not surprising.

Hopefully they get their house in order soon

I’m born and raised Victorian but spent 60% of my life here.

Cities don’t do it for me all that much to be honest.

Both States have amazing scenery and things to do.

I just get humoured by people slagging off Perth as a hole when they’ve made a couple of fleeting visits here in their life and are in reality nowhere near equipped to make an accurate nor pragmatic assessment of the city.

Don’t worry mate, it’s not a hole.
It just has limited obvious appeal to a dumb kid. But we’re talking about footballers here, so not many Rhodes scholars among them.

It's an absolute classic when:

  • you jump on 'Land at lunchtime to check-up on major news
  • you see the HOT tag against a thread and think "[censored] . . . some big news"
  • you quickly click the thread (in my case the Harley Reid thread)
  • as the thread is loading you're thinking "Melbourne's swapped Grundy into Norf in return for their number two pick"
  • what you find is three 'Landers engaged in a fascinating discussion about anything but Harley Reid
  • LoL and LMFAO.

That, and, in my view, the best weather in the country.

My mum lived in Perth for a few years, and I visited in the school holidays.

Fell in love with the weather - I hate humidity and I love the dry heat and of course the beaut freo doctor that comes in during summer in the late arvo and drops the temp to balmy not crazy hot like Melbourne can get.

Saw my first ever live gig at a pub when I was 15 - hoodoo gurus at the I think joint called the lizard lounge. Probably no longer there.

One flag now, with an excellent culture will generate future flags, regardless of draft points in this draft.

We must never even contemplate tanking. Tanking is cultural poison, wrapped up like a sweet.

You've convinced me to your way of thinking, that we should maybe contemplate competing for this year's flag - I just hope the footy department are on board with such an approach. Even if our first-rounder slips back to say #21, we could possibly package it up with our future first and Freo's second to move back up to around that #17 mark.

This is genius and hope our recruiting staff bring you on as a consultant as you appear well versed in both conning and insulting.

Haha. Sorry demonsaw, just being playful. No insult intended - I was born with my tongue firmly lodged in my cheek. However, you did just manage to denigrate the entire industry which currently pays my bills (although I agree with the conning assessment).

No worries Skuit. I took your bait and swallowed it. I’m sure your clients get more value than you bill them for.

This is undoubtedly true, but just to be clear I'm not a consultant. I just write about the various conpeople and swindlers in the industry, along with the decent folk who also genuinely try to make a difference.

Good on him. Great surf, plenty of spots to go out. Perfect time in life to do it.

Barrass to stay - bodes well for our chances to secure pick 1.

At the same time, it increases the premium on key defenders, as McKay prepares to exit North. This might bring compensation further into play and if we are to keep our earlier picks.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
