Been a bit of draft talk about needing a new wave of midfielder(s) to come through, perhaps we have an A-grader sitting on our half-back flank.

At the end of last year at his exit meeting, he was told that he would be asked to play with more attack. So during the preseason he set about changing his body shape and as a consequence I think he had a brilliant year. At this year's exit meeting he got a 10/10 from all the coaches so he was happy with his season but not how it ended.

He has the flair to be the goal kicking midfeilder we lack

One my favourites of this current team - love his attitude to the game and the club.

Whilst I understand the ‘temptation’ to get him into the midfield, I think we may have a multiple all Australian  HBFer so I’m all for leaving him there and let him keep improving in that role.

Rivers, Judd and Bowey means we’re all but set for backline smalls for the next 10 years.

Don't we have Blake Howes who should be pushing into Rivs spot so that Riv can move to mid or fwd?

Riv is not a small really Judd and Bowser are.

I could be wrong but I don't think he has the agility to be a top line mid.

Can develop into one of the best back flanker's in the game though.

Riv is becoming of my favourites - dash, courage, intent, disposal accuracy as well as distance.   (A hell of a long way back but a bit reminiscent of Tony Anderson #11 of the 1964 Premiership team)

Yes, if Bowey McVee and maybe Howes continue to develop, and Salo recovers his fitness and form, I could see him as a very damaging midfielder.  Quick, evasive hard tackler and booming kick.

The only slightly sour point in the interview (made just before the Collingwood QF of course) was his modelling his game on Maynard 😮😮😮.  I hope he has changed that little bit.

Jake is 5’9”, Judd is 6’1” and Riv is 6’2”, so Riv is a good medium size player same size at Fritsch.

Trent Rivers is one of those players who really grows on you, he just keeps getting better. The coaches haven’t put a ceiling on him and neither should we, top 10 this year. Tough, fast, disciplined courageous, skilful, a lot of love in the team for and from Riv. I love him off the halfback line, rarely beaten and a critical link player for us. Someone mentioned Future All Australian and I tend to agree.!!

Totally agree. He seems a really humble and nice kid, too, which I love seeing at the club. His season was fantastic, a real highlight for us this year. Here's to a great year ahead in '24, Riv!

Cane Cornes will be telling us all he desperately wants to go home asap.
Oh, wait, he isn’t from Adelaide so he probably hasn’t heard of him.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. TRAINING: Wednesday 13th November 2024

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
