Left for an hour and a half to go do work come back expecting to either crucify the AFL or praise Houghton, instead I'm blue balled

Still Hawny then?

Calling them a tool is a bit harsh!

Probably writing a epic judgement that the AFL can move forward on.

Rewriting the rules for them!

About the same as post match but that can also be anywhere between 500 and over 1000.

Makes sense. 'Land is where I come immediately after the game.

the beaks are paid by the 5min increment so no wonder they are taking forever!

Will @joeboy be providing a three-word analysis of tonight's CF?

Way too long

Does the concept of reasonable doubt apply? Taking so long surely means just that.

I agree. I actually think this lengthy deliberation is a good sign. Perhaps they’re working out how to explain the overturning of his suspension while saving face. As well as avoiding the expected “please explain” from all and sundry

It used to be more than that but I reckon social media has taken away a chunk of people away from traditional website/forums.

I want informed, wise and insightful opinion - so 'Land it is.

Does anyone know who the Appeal Tribunal members are?

FWIW, Will Houghton is an incredibly well respected KC.

I also know Andrew Wood, AFL's Counsel. Great guy, but not (yet) at Will's level.

Probably trying to craft a Supreme Court challenge proof decision that saves face for AFL and tribunal.

All we want to do is save Jacob. Get on with it.

The thing about social media is that for better or for worse it is a one stop shop for your footy team, your favourite band, fishing tips, cooking recipes etc. Hard to compete with that.

JVR: hard done by

Demonlanders: unfair AFL treatment

MFC members: this is disgusting

Tom McDonald: here I come

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
