We might have booked Scully but the rest of the comp didn't. It's bloody stupid unless you're north supporters.

North weren't even playing tonight!

Every club participates in the draft, and every club's supporters have the right to expect their #1 pick to at least see out the first contract.

Why every other teams fans has joined the booing bandwagon is somewhat perplexing but probably relates to group think

Group sheep think more like it.

Absolute star tonight!

i’m going to enjoy the Saints slide down the ladder and out of finals.

they had 28-14 free kicks and still bottled it. their lack of midfield talent will tell.

What about every club not involved and their spectators?

Once again excuse my ignorance but how did he avoid seeing out that contract?

Every club is involved in the draft. That's the point.

I think you are right. I can’t work out what rule a number of these so called frees are awarded for.

28 frees to  St K, 14 to Port.
Absolutely every 50:50 decision went to the Saints. The Marvel crowd( all Saints) definitely influenced the Umpires by screaming for frees the whole match.

We Demon supporters have got to try to influence the imps like that, but it’s harder at the bigger MCG, and we rarely have a crowd  that all goes for us .

He's a gun and was always going to be. Like the way he goes about his footy when he's switched on.

I've never booed a player because they stiffed a club other than mine.

He had his foot out the door half way before his first season was over and requested a trade to Port.

North could have held him to his contract but seemed both parties thought a split was better.

North have done well out of the deal regardless with Sheezel and Wardlaw, who hasn't played yet. Wardlaw is an explosive mid who will be a gun, assuming he gets on the park (injury prone with hammy issues last year).

Me neither, but I get it.

Fair enough, seems like a waste of energy though.

Been going to the football for over 50 years. I have never booed any player or umpire. I'd feel a fool doing it and I'd be right. It's simply moronic.

Feel free to 🤮 on this post.

Carn crows!

Funnily enough, if Crows get up and and both Bombers and Lions win, there will be 7 teams at the top of the ladder separated only by percentage.

Only one, and I will not mention his name.  Hint- went to GW$ then Hawks

Voldemort?🙃

Imagine changing your employer and then turning up to site with all the proper accreditation, head out and get booed by 'stakeholders', whilst you go about your paid job for 3 hours to provide entertainment for 'stakeholders' on a weekly basis...

Imagine doing so when you are 19.

Imagine thinking, "He's an AFL footballer, it's fair game, it comes with the territory..."

It's an absolute [censored] disgrace by those that do it, and by those that condone it and the apologists.

I am so surprised that where we are culturally in 2023, and how the AFL positions itself around mental health that it has not been addressed by the AFL publicly. The AFL need to disentangle the right to boo about incidents in a match, vs systemic individually directed bullying...

Yes, it's a mental health issue.

The 50m penalty needs to go

I say keep it but I think they could have a 25 m penalty used in conjunction. Not all infractions deserve the same penalty. Just saying.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
