Nana-Shaz? She’s the head of the Doggies cheer squad. Quite the character, too.

lol

i was actually referring to a well known satirical piece (bigfooty iirc) about a day with the grog squad where shazza (iirc) was the fearsome head honcho. very politically incorrect

some other poster might remember a link?

You're not talking about Sharon Cutajar? Aka nanna Shaz as she's referred to by doggies supporters..

Someone did post that here last year or the year before. Very funny piece.

Right....

Do you even know what I was referring too? Or have you gone way too early on this again.

Read some of their comments again. Example A:

  • Just what we need, an angry, fired up Melbourne on the rebound..

We usually rebound well after a bad loss. Are they wrong here?

  • See which side Max is going and tell Miller to b-line it to the other side, no way Max keeps up with Miller.  Can't let him sit behind play, have to play him smart or physical.

Again, they're not wrong once again.. their ruckman will need all the luck they get trying to combat Max and Brodie.

  • Our backline is miles away from our best lineup but realistically their fwd's are pus. Young/ Van Rooyen is a good matchup. Grimes/ Fritch should work.

Yep, pretty much agree with them once again. Their backline is a shambles.

I'm happy to keep pointing them out for you?

Well I'm not entirely sure about our forwards being "pus".

I mean, we are the highest scoring side in the league...

The one and only. Very flamboyant in her GameDay attire, outrageously so. OTT Doggies devotee. Pregame Round One, waiting in the race for banner raising and SHE tells ME she loves MY red and blue garb. And she’s the one wearing red, blue and white glitter platform boots! 😂

Edit: so jealous of those boots.

That’s to whom I thought you were referring. But I realise now it’s Shaz from the Richmond CS many years ago. Seems Shaz is a common CS name. 😁

Definitely not the forward part, but their backs are very vulnerable and we definitely need to take advantage of it.

The targeting of Max Gawn's back/head is never going to stop until the club goes to the AFL with video evidence and demands a response from the league and the umpires.

When Gawn starts getting soft frees every time someone touches him, then clubs will stop targeting him illegally. But while they can get away with it, they'll keep doing it because he is such a brilliant and important player.

Oliver gets a few whacks too.

I know, Luci. I was just making a point.

Once again, thanks for trawling through the muck to bring us this. 💕

I’ll be fraternising with about 20 Toiges tonight. Because it’s a shared banner, they’re coming to ours to join in the making of it. I’m wondering if any of them made any of the comments you’ve listed. Maybe I’ll climb to the top of the giant ladder and yell out, “I sure hope FISTS OF FURY LEVER is playing this Monday!” Then I’ll look for someone flinching. 😄

Just remember to disinfect afterwards.

No need for that. Picked up my hazmat suit from the cleaners this morning.

I think the fists of fury title should probably remain at Richmond aka a certain player we all know. ( first name ryhmes with Brent).

Why “lol” if what you’re saying was complimentary from the outset? You didn’t like having the real meaning of your comment being acknowledged so you were quick to try to appear to be praising our team by plucking out the positive things in the OP. All good, though. You have your opinions, etc., etc., etc. I just wanted you to know I see what you’ve done, ‘s all.

I missed the good old Tigers supporters. You know, the ones who use to drag themselves out of the gutter on Swan st, brushing the needles out of their arms and shuffling off to the G on a Saturday arvo.

They are a little more sophisticated these days Gorg.

Instead of "brushing the needles out of their arms" they just pick up their little pipes and shuffle off.

Surprised to see Cotchin is still playing this year. I assumed he retired already… his numbers and impact back this up!

  • Our biggest issue is if Fists of Fury Lever plays. With no Lynch and our bombs inside 50, Lever will think he is at a Las Vegas buffet racking up intercept marks.

Just brilliant. Hope it goes to plan.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
