Before it's all said and done I'd love to see Joel get a shot up forward. I've still got that 2019 pre season form in my head.

One game.  Which it would appear you didn't watch

Mad a car trip from north east Vic to the Gabba for the game, just wondering what tickets we buy to make sure we are with other Melbourne supporters???

I'm sitting in a GA area so assume I'll be surrounded by Lions fans....

I guess the best spot would be the cheer squad, but not sure if they would be available?

He's 27 years old and isn't locked in the best 22 even if fit after 7 years. It's a major head scratcher why he's still on the list when he can't even get on the park by now.

Anyhoo I'm hoping we give May another week off to ensure his calf is 100%. Petty, Lever, Tomlinson are more than capable enough without him, and Gawn and others float back to help too. We need May cherry ripe for our assault on the flag later this year.

Not being a lock in a defence that includes May, Lever, Petty, Salem, Rivers and Brayshaw is hardly a reason for delisting.

David Astbury played in 24 games in five years from 2011-2015 and then played in three flags.

He is a cheap list filler, that has versatility and will probably be a lot better than pick 900 in the draft.

I think his ability to play back and forward and his athleticism is what's kept him on the list.

The Demon Army website has some info about tickets but you're probs best placed ordering via Ticketmaster (since the Try Booking link to register interest might not be monitored this late).  Section 211? 213? are cheersquad zones :)

Fact or conjecture??

I understand it to be fact (from someone close enough to it all to trust).

Having said that, he is on the plane so either someone is playing games with me or the club is playing games with Brisbane! We’ll know in about 28 hours.

Tickets we were allocated that remained unused were sent back to the Club this morning. Your best bet would be to call the Club. Good luck with that though.

My DA BFF/ticketing expert is looking to see if there’s any other option for you, Josh. Watch this space. 👍🏽

We’re in Bay 213. There’s GA tickets which allow you to sit wherever but if you get there early as possible you can sit in our Bay. No oppo supporters, understandably. Not sure if there’s still any GA tickets available. I’d say there would be since the NRL match will attract more people. But if there’s no GA available, your last resort is to ring the Club.

This is right DP, all DA-allocated tickets that weren’t booked were returned to the Club this morning. However, if someone does buy a GA ticket and gets there early they’re very welcome to sit in our Bay or the bay next to ours. Strictly Dees fans only, of course.

Please do the right thing and contact Action Jackson asap Walking and let him know about this arrangement.

It's a win win as his 24 hour plus wait will be worthwhile plus he won't just keep the seats in your bay warm.... they'll be red hot by the time the game starts! 👍🏻

His books were banned following the publication of the rather racy "Biggles' Flies Undone".

His athletic ability would be such a weapon for our team but unfortunately we just barely see it due to injury.

Feel for him and fingers crossed he can get a good run at it.

He is athletic once on the move Dazzle but i watched him closely against the Hawks last season and he was easily beaten to the drop of the ball on most occasions and unable to kill the ball very often aside from the occasional big bombs.

I think some are fooled by his running / athletic capability when he gets some momentum but off the mark he's well behind many forwards with any sort of speed over the first few meters.

I reckon some opps might know this also and would look to exploit this weakness, especially by looking to go through any forward with even a bit of decent burst on the lead.

Thanks for the info mate. We were planning on just rocking up and buying tickets 🤷🏽‍♂️ we have a country family membership but not sure that'll help with a Gabba game. Either way we'll be there

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
