Rumour has it that restorative works began today in Richmond to repair all the buildings that had been destroyed this summer.

It is believed that no houses in the area were trained down today.

Probably longer seeing the rugby boys had booked the oval.  I don't think the Club understand the effort many make to attend training.  Perhaps if someone from the Club got down there every now and again and chatted to the trackwatcher's they'd get a better idea.

Some of the stories here are very sad.

Do we share Gosch's paddock?

The blueprint for how to beat us and why they have been successful on the last three occasions.

I call it the Z system

I hope that is not adopted DJ. the last lot to use Z have been thoroughly thrashed .

There is a good possibility that there was a bait and switch employed here.

Perhaps this was intentional so there wouldn't be any track watchers watching from behind the fence at Casey.

It's relatively simple to pull off. Advertise an Open Session at one venue, have the rubes turn up at that venue and then bait and switch so no interlopers at a tactical session.

Bloody genius move by the club. Not very nice to the fans but we all want to win a flag afterall.

Nah they are not that clever. Just a stuff up.

Is it fair to say because admin/social media team are completely separated from the playing group that maybe there has been confusion to the point where even our own social media team didn't even know they had changed to Casey?

Aren't all ou admin team based out on the actual MCG precinct where as our playing is at Aami Park?

Just another boring reminder of the importance of having a home base where is based all in the one precinct.

Don't hold your breath dd.

That's what they said for today!

I will check before I troop off next Wednesday.

Despite all of the above, it is great to see, in the Stephen may interview on the Club website, that, in the background, Clarrie is handling the ball with his right hand, gripping it, and with no bandage that I could see!

FWIW I checked today before I went to training this morning yet here we are.

Best laid plans!!

I don’t think I’ll risk turning up to training again, especially with kids. 2 trains to get there from my area. About 90 mins round trip. You’d expect this from an unreliable mate, not a professional organisation.

Maybe @Demonland can send Kate and Gary a link to this thread.  Not to pull rank on Marketing but for someone to reinforce that fans are a key stakeholder.   No point sending it to Marketing I doubt they understand or would act on it.

It seems there is a disconnect in communications between football and marketing.  And an increasing disconnect in communications between marketing and fans if the Membership thread and this thread are anything to go by.

At some point yesterday the FD decided to change the location. Surely it is not too hard for that info to be forwarded to the marketing department and an alert put up on the site. Or am I asking too much.

Is it possible that clubs are still experiencing residual effects of Covid when they had to slash staff?

I wonder if it's a case of simply not having the resources in the marketing department or are they back to pre Covid levels staff wise?

Maybe the FD did but marketing didn't act on it.

Lets assume FD forgot to tell marketing.  Is it so hard for marketing to have 'training times' as an item to check before training.

Better that marketing put up nothing at all than the wrong info.

It is indicative of a process/communications that aren't working very well.

No idea layzie, even with reduced numbers is it that difficult?

There would have been heaps of players and staff that would have needed to be contacted for this change of venue with  . Surely one more person could have been told, namely the social media team.

I wouldn't have thought so, would take a few seconds to update.

Agree LH the FD need to add training times to their check list, there was a number of mentions of fans turning up at training sessions. Richo or Goody need to address this issue with Roffe and Perty and also raise the Issue about Replacing the irreplaceable Benny Gibson, time to get some more player Interviews on the site particularly the Young Ones.!!! Does anyone have a close contact within the club.??

Well it has been a wonder to read a Demonland thread about the ultra intensive training session done by the Melbourne football club on Wednesday the 1st of February.

So what about people that don't bother with those platforms, calling a phone number would solve that problem as the club can do it there, people can either call before leaving or the night before as for the web site don't the AFL or an outsource  supplier?

A spectator from this morning did call. They told us training will still be at Gosch's. Seemed only a few knew.

Most platforms could be linked so it’s prob one post on Facebook that also goes to Insta and Twitter or the old Control C, Control V works a treat.

It’s pure zero care factor. Any staff member could easily do it.

Usually not, but the storm were on the rugby field so the rebels had to go somewhere (looked like less than half their squad). I have seen them use it before.

100%. An organization as big as MFC would use a multi platform application that automatically posts to all its social media accounts from a single point of posting.
No chance somebody is logging in manually to FB, Twitter, Insta and TikTok and making updates separately. If they are, it’s no wonder our social media is so bad.

It literally takes 1 second to update these things, and it’s really not good enough that it wasn’t done in a timely manner.

Surely someone on DL has some connections at the club and can pass along this stuff up for future rectification. It is not much to ask.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
