Can you tip the crowd for Sunday's game V Port Adelaide. If the Freo game was anything to go by I think this one could get ugly.

12,000 MFC members

2,000 MFC supporters

300 Neutral

2,000 Ferals....err Port Supporters

--------

16,300 is my educated tip.

I think there'll be a few extra people because of Neitz's return, and because we're playing quite a few kids.

I'm gonna say between 10k-14k

I'll go ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 23,200

Anything under 25,000 would be a disgrace

In this time of adversity, we must grow strong

All Melbourne based supporters and barrackers of the Dees MUST turn up on Sunday - we need to cheer on our great team

GO DEES

some supporters will be going because they didnt against freo

some ont be going due to bad performance and so on

That would be a very good crowd for when we're doing well!!! I can't see that happening, but then again we can dream, can't we?

25,001 - the one is me!

25,000 then - cos I'll be working.

Seriously, if we nudge 20,000 it'll be a good crowd under the circumstances.

I have put some thought into this, and have come up with what should be something very close to the crowd figure

The Demons currently have 27,000 members. Port Adelaide have approximately 38,000 members. Of these, you would expect 36,000 to make the trip across the border for such a huge game.

Add to that the neutral supporters that will rock up to see the hijinx of such luminaries as Davey, Johstone, Yze, Bruce, Burgoyne, Tredrea and the Cornes brothers... that would be abother 16,000.

And on top of that the corpporate crowd that will be filling up the boxes upstairs, there is another 5,000.

FInally, MCC members which will total 7,000.

My crowd prediction - 93,000. Enough to eclipse the ANZAC day match between Essendon and Collingwood.

I will be bumping this thread up to remind you all how spot on I am.

Seriously, if we nudge 20,000 it'll be a good crowd under the circumstances.

I'll throw my hat in at 20 000'ish......

Nothing too specific is the safest bet from here  !!!

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
