It is hard to say how good a team is in those conditions. We really need to get our % up this quarter.

Sounds like there's a few bomber ferals in the crowd on the grandstand side of the ground.

They’re everywhere! And they must procreate more than anyone else since there’s so many of the little ferals running around.

We are doing ok. Our tackling is ferocious again. Transition play fell apart late in the 2nd, before that we had some great ball movement.

I like the kicking of Gillard from the goal square. Clearing the fifty even against the wind.

Purcell is a great find, Heath showing her skills and her all round game, Hore, Paxy doing well with Bannan hitting early on.

I think the percentage is too far away to take first place. Hopefully a win by the maggies against the lions next week, will help if we win these last two games. Win today and we shore up a top two as our percentage is too high to be caught by 3rd and 4th, or 5th.

Go Dees

Top spot will be decided next week, Brissie are too far ahead after yesterday's win.

Hopefully the pies next week kick a big score, even if brissie win.

Hore is killing it up forward. Another one goes through.

sadly, our association with Casey means that our home games are always sloppy. The wind is a nightmare and the games are never high scoring out there

Fair play to them. It's a long bus ride from Broadmeadows to Cranbourne.

That Bomber fan near the effects mic is an absolute moron.

There’s at least one totally deranged human sitting in the crowd

6.30 pm on a Sunday and the game is still on.

Has that happened before?

Chaplin so close to her first and doing well.

How did a 50 from the square, end up in the centre?

50 is from the woman on the mark, which is 15 from the top of the square. Net result should be 74m from goal which at Casey is probably 5 or so from the middle.

They don't procreate more than others  it is they have not come up to working out what a condom is for.

Lol what a nutter…Casey’s version of the Woo Hoo man.

That clown in the crowd needs to be taken outside and dealt with

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
