Today we made two banners for the girls. One for vs Carlton tomorrow night (at Ikon Park. Yโ€™all should come for an old school footy experience!) and one for vs Freo next week.

Fact: of the 18 AFLW sides we are the ONLY club to make a banner for every single match. Iโ€™m so proud of our Club.
Some clubs make a banner on some occasions. And sadly, some clubs never make one. I feel sorry for their players. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Round 5 team:

IN - Duffy (club debut), Harris, Goldrick

OUT - Campbell, Chaplin, Wilson (all omitted)

Delighted to see Goldie back in the side and interested to see how our forward dynamic will change with Duffy in the team

Carlton no great shakes so should be able to get back on track after last weeks disappointing showing

That's a strong team. We should belt Carlton.

Ponchos are tonightโ€™s must-have accessory!
Hopefully thereโ€™s no repeat of last weekโ€™s banner raisingโ€ฆ

Itโ€™s a good thing we use soooo much tape.

Lilโ€™s 50th was still readable, though. So thereโ€™s that. ๐Ÿ˜

Lauren Pearceโ€™s 50th tonight. Weโ€™ll be cheering extra loud for Loz!!!

GO DEES!!!

Out: regular rope gal

In: WCW (debuting on rope)

Booming goal Harris. Superb kick from 50 meters. she'll enjoy that against her old mob

Great having a dominant KPF. If only we could find one for the mens team

The female commentator is not a fan of us.

Some of our fringe mids seem to be getting a run on the ball and probably need the experience. Good coaching, but making for a messy game so far

Kate Horeโ€™s a little soft, got to sort that out

Needs to work on her goal kicking as well

Strong effort there at a ground ball.
Come on Dees, couple of quick ones here to put this out of range

Want to see the Duff woman get a genuine one on one inside 50. Feels like snags

That was quick. Any other requests?

Thereโ€™s a Goldie to Paxy to Sherrif to Banno out the back goal on offer after half time

Solid first half but we are a bit messy down forward. Would be good to get a big solid win.

Solid first half.  Highlight for me has been some of Bannoโ€™s handballs.  Not something I had expected from someoneโ€™s whose obvious strength is outside run.  First class, especially in the drizzle.

Purcell and West have been two great picksl ups without having to go to the early draft, haven't they?

I have only watched the second half and where making Carlton look very average and thatโ€™s always a good thing.

Comprehensive win against an ordinary Carlton outfit. Healthy percentage boost.

Good intensity. Harris and Purcell excellent. West very good. Paxy involved. Goldie rusty but will be better for the run

Need more polish going instead 50

Go Dees

21 free kicks to 9 Carlton's way. Daisy scragged at every occasion, Birch knocked over multiple times off the ball. You could see them getting frustrated. But a big win over an average side.

West and Purcell great, as were Tayla and Tyla. And goldie some awesome among the head scratches. She's always going to give away one or two weird ones each game, but her pressure and attack on the ball are something to behold

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old sideโ€”the Tigersโ€”coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by โ€œtheyโ€ the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around.Itโ€™s no secret that the Demonsโ€™ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryanโ€™s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
