Lovely mark from Howes. Goal good. The float in mark better.

Jeez what a clunk by Blake Howes! Reminded me of Jack Gunston the way he just floated across.

I feel for Oskar Baker. Has been so consistent at VFL and not once I don't think he was named VFL level. If a bloke deserved to be rewarded on form then it was Baker.

Pitty form at VFL level is irrelevant.

Repeat efforts from JVR

Crazy to think he couldn't get a gig, too.....!

JVR sure loves the contest.

Got some good young kids coming through in the VFL. Shame none of them could get a go this year but the future looks bright.

@Lord Nev are you Tom's father? Genuine question!

JVR is everything we have wanted this year up forward. Contested marking, pressure, not giving up, ground level play. Glad he had a year to enjoy ragdolling VFL defenders. He won’t see them again.

Weideman is SO much better in the ruck

Field kicking is elite. Low and hard.

JVR, AMW, Oskar, Chandler, Bowey all playing well

Some depth there to draw on next year

But Goody won’t make any changes

Bowey has only had 3, but has been very important in the centre clearances getting up to the play. It’ll be good to have him back next year.
too bad Howes only had a few games under his belt. There is a lot to like there.

I agree. We should acquire Meek in the Jackson deal, and have Meek play VFL and back up for Gawn. Also play Weideman in Jackson’s current role but more as ruck relief for Gawn but gives us that extra forward. Free up the Grundy coin for someone we actually need.

Also his hands in close for a big man are impressive. He’s a creative player. He’s just not made for that lead and contested mark role.

McDonald and JVR both bossing a VFL kid for sure but that’s good alternating of useful talls in the ruck contests

foot to the throat now boys

How was the around the neck not paid to Bedford when the Mathieson was. Pathetic

Happy for the initial contact not paid, but the second guy who jumped on Toby’s head has to be paid

lmfao how did we almost stuff that up?

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
