Good to see Petterd and Fergy in the top few. I've no doubt we'll need at least Ferguson in the team...

How long is James Frawley away? We need to blood blokes like him ASAP to improve our depth.

And also Simon Buckley?

I wouldn't mind seeing him on the big stage some time soon.. I mean really, why not? We're running out of options.

He's just not getting in the best at sandy, I wish he was, we could use some more pace for the Dees.

You'd think Rivers, Moloney and Johnstone would have a good chance of playing next week though Jaded.

Petterd definately deserves a game. I'm going to the game and would love to see him play.

I doubt that Moloney will be right with his history of serious 'OP', but I think your right with Rivers, Johnstone & Pettard...

I think there will be a lot of eyes on our kids in the next few weeks to see who can make the next step sooner rather than later.

I went to the game and Danny Hughes actually kicked 2 goals. It is wrong in todays parer too.

He was sandy's most creative forward as well. Looks like a good player. Should get a chance in the next few weeks. With newton not able to impose himself on a game yet, looks a fair way off at the moment.

It was indeed Hughes and not Warnock who kicked the two goals. One was a beauty from a strong mark near the end when Bendigo had the lead.

Sautner kicked the last goal from a free kick given after something happened in a pack in front of goals.

Ice Station Zebra will be filing his report later today or tomorrow.

The number of Melbourne listed players in the team was down to nine - Simon Buckley, Ryan Ferguson, Colin Garland, Daniel Hughes, Chris Johnson, Michael Newton, Shane Neaves, Ricky Petterd and Matthew Warnock. Chances are that the number will be lower next week as the injury crisis at the Demons continues to bite hard.

Hope to see Petterd playing next week due to our injuries. He may not be ready, but there isnt many other options :S

We have played 31 of a possible 38 players already this season. Pretty scary!

I reckon Buckley played really well at Windy Hill....Petterd played well too...Ferguson took some good marks ....his disposal let him down on a couple of occasions...Newton is struggling a bit...he kicked a very good goal to the school end in the 3rd quarter but he needs to be more consistent...he still wants to take the real "speccy" mark...it may work out once in ten attempts but invariably he doesn't take it...Garland did well alrhough didn't dominate...CJ played really well..he's all class...

And a big wrap to Ricky Petterd. He was the player who gave Adam Ramanauskas the pat on the backside when he came on the 1st quarter..that gesture was to quote Bruce Macaveney..."Special"...even Sheeds commented on it...

GO ZEBRAS...GO DEES...

Let's hope the injury problems at Melbourne start getting better...

My count is 32 out of a possible 40. Remember that each declared veteran is outside the list of 38.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
