See article on afl website. I notice Melbourne as one of the clubs not listed with that role. Surely we could’ve put Daisy in it and kept her at the club post playing career?

Every player leaves their club. Some learn new things elsewhere and come back.     I think it's a great decision to leave

Geelong: Daisy Pearce (current Melbourne player and captain)

So she plays for Melbourne and coaches Geelong. Absolutely bizarre. How does the club allow that?

She takes up the coaching role at the end of the AFLW season when she hangs up the boots.

"Pearce has one of nine positions across the AFLW, with the successful women able to take the up the minimum two-year role between now and 2025, allowing the Demons star and other AFLW players to continue playing if desired".

Oh well...good luck to her. You can't really begrudge her, albeit a disappointing result for us

Would be mad if they didn't go after her.

...interesting to see if that's what she is after though.

Media commitments and coaching in the mens program, interesting times for Daisy.

Hawks trying to punch multiple of our players.

Their coach ‘shock’ retirement.

West Coast chasing Daisy.

Can I bet on Daisy coaching the Hawks next year?

She's settled in country Vic. I can't see Daisy moving across to WA.

Plus i reckon she's learning more coaching a mens team than jumping back to AFLW now

Hopefully not punching them, just pinching.

Nice conspiracy theory DS, Libby and Daisy are close.   Time will tell 😎.

Funny how Geelong AFLW knew how to play us in the finals, I don’t think that it was a coincidence. Daisy is going to be a very good coach wherever she ends up.

Why don’t you think it was a coincidence?

Hi TheWiz Cats would have used Daisy’s knowledge of our game plan and team to beat us. Just as they did against our men’s side last year with our Casey ex-coach and our former runner in their camp both had intimate knowledge of all our moves, strengths and weaknesses. Cats recruited our VFL Premiership coach and AFLW Premiership Captain to get better.!!

Think there is a bit to this DeeZone but I also think that Adelaide and Brisbane also provided a bit of a blueprint on how to beat us. Physicality and pressure is our kryptonite. Beat us at the contest and pressure us to deny us our running game.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
