Happy to disagree. Well not happy but I disagree.

And if you compare BBB's marking with Weid then there is no comparison.

this is true, but sideshow bob's ability to mark it at the end of his reach is extraordinary

he's already helped by being 200cm tall, then his arms are LONG

it'd be interesting to know what his stretch reach is; i think it'd probably be significantly greater than his actual height - think of michael jordan, who was 198cm but had a span of 210cm (e.g. 6 foot 6 height but 6 foot 11 wingspan)

When Brown was standing on the mark recently with his legs apart and his arms stretched out (not in a disrespectful way of course) it looked to me like his arms were as long as his legs. (Yes, I probably need new glasses.)

I think if it's lineball there is some logic in giving Weed an extended run at it given he is by far the youngest of the 3 and we need him to be ready when the other 2 reach the end of their careers. Provided, of course, that he provides consistent output.

The only thing we do know is that

BB, Weid & TMac will not all play in the Forward Line. One will miss out

Many argued for this at the start of 2021 with TMac tending towards a forward/wing role.

As you say the verdict is now well and truly in.

Brown is clearly our number one tall forward and must come in. It then comes down to do you think it is more likely that TMac can get back to form of 9-12 months ago or Weid can start to more consistently impact contests and the scoreboard. I personally would like us to invest in Weid and feel whilst TMac gives his all has lost any ability to get off the ground and a step to gain separation on the lead.

That was my original thoughts on reading between the lines of Goodys comments during the week. However he has a history of preferring team consistency and minimising change. He also talked up Bedfords performance when he played earlier in the year only to omit him. I feel the reinforcement of Weid doing the right things but TMac being known and preferred at least for a while longer is where selection will land tonight.

Sorry, but there is no logic in giving the inferior player games due to youth when we're in a premiership window.

Ben Brown plays, and based on last week, so does T Mac.

We are in a parallel universe when this decision is causing the most debate on dl.

He'll, when I first started posting on 2011 we were already debating who to delist, draft needs and which free agents we should chase.

Oh, and Jack Watts (hi pro dee - I might have won the battle, but you well and truly won the war).

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
