Apparently it is BannAn not BannOn

1. Bannon ( 3 goals in AFLW relates to about 6/7 in AFL) Her speed is breathtaking.

2. Paxman ( Absolute best game of year and controlled that wing all day  The D/L er who wanted to retire Pacy about R3 should voluntarily retire from Demonland !)

3. L. Pearce ( very lucky they missed the goal from near the square after her brain fade ruck jump all over her opponent) but fantastic game around the ground and goal as well.

4. Rest  plenty of even choices but some forwards need to move around more and provide targets

5. Wonder if Gillard is in best 20 would it give us another tall to have some flexility down back or even up forward or are our mediums diverse enough to present problems to the Crows who like the Lions have more put footy skills but we excel in providing extra pressure to wear down our opponents

6. No need for a nervous start like last years Prelim use it as an advantage we had more shots and overwhelmed up forward so kicked badly. We need to make the most of our forward moves.  Daisy Kate and Tayla say Hi!

Hanks

5. Bannan (3 goals, electric. Celebrations also A+)

4. Paxman (Glad we didn't drop her early in the season...haha as if that was every going to happen!)

3. McNamara (Went up a level in the second half. Did the defensive stuff, hit the scoreboard)

2. L.Pearce (Just keeps on keeping on, clearance stats, chef's kiss goal out of the ruck)

1. Colvin (Stepped up, left her player decisively for crucial moments)

Apologies to Gay, Heath, Hanks, Goldie, D.Pearce... really, most players except about two or three.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
