One of the rare times it's come over my side this quarter. Apologies for the low quality, broke one of the lenses in my phone camera so lost the ability to zoom

Who you taking out from Jackson, McDonald and Fritsch?

Rotate between TMac and Weid. I believe (could well be wrong) there’s an extended bench for this game. Possibly Brown as well, a chance to experiment a little.

We know our best 22 line up stacks up, maybe have a look at what the second string has to offer.

3QT

Casey 11.7.73

Carlton with a last second goal 3.7.25

I don't recall seeing Weid that quarter, maybe he's being rested for tonight now?

Appreciate the updates

Thx

None of them. Weid was picked in the side with them. Probably play a half here and a half tonight. Good luck to him.

Carlton 3.7 (25) | Casey 11.7 (73)

Goals 👉 Weideman 4, Bedford, Howes, McVee, Rosman, van Rooyen, Woewodin

Mitch Brown took a mark right in front of me. Tried to kick a set shot around his body but missed the lot

Weed was picked in a side within a AFL.com article made up from a squad released from Melbourne.

Forward line is is made up of numbers 38 (Brown), 66, 16, 54, 75 and 58

Blues getting a lot more of the ball, 5.8.38 to Casey 11.8.74 12 minutes left

Blues with another one. All the play happening up the construction end where I can't see who's doing what.

74-45 Casey's way

One can only salivate at the money involved in all that new infrastructure.

Wonder if that is a multi level car park under construction

Mitch Brown slots a nice one from 45m out on a 45° angle.

80-45

The big number 73 just kicked one from a free. With that big curly mop heads got a bit of the Spencil wild man look from a few years ago. Not quite as solid as Spencer was but still pretty big

And that's a wrap.

FT

Casey 13.8.86

Carlton 6.11.47

Sorry I couldn't give much detail, next time I'll pack the binoculars!!

Much appreciated Red - now just submit a match report before you leave.

I’d give him a run in the last quarter with a few stints in the ruck. Otherwise the first choice guys need 3/4’s of solid work

I also have to add it was outstanding to see Sam Docherty get 38 disposals in his return game from cancer treatment

Strange timing from an MFC viewpoint.

Friday or Saturday would have made a lot more sense for those on the AFL extended bench/fringe

Keep in mind we're playing Round 1 on Wednesday. It's tough on the Casey boys to be playing today, but an MFC player in this game might be required then and needs an adequate break.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
