CHANGES: AFLW Rd 09 vs Fremantle

Featured Replies

No change. We are going too well to make changes, Gillard has replaced Colvin.

I’ve been liking Gillard but I think Colvin is still more trustworthy at the contest mostly when the ball is on the deck.

I also think it’s time for Shell Scott to have a rest. Maybe a freshen up does her good. Fitzsimon back in.

Depending on the opposition and ground and various other factors we could move Sheriff to the wing, Heath back and rotate the mids forward more. But they are options.

Don’t mess with a winning formula I reckon

The only change is for Zanks to untuck her jumper.... it just looks wrong with the high waist shorts and logo elastic band...

Might just be the change she needs to get back to her absolute best

Agree re Scot - she looks old and a bit slow, although still hard at the contest. Since the game is being played at Fremantle, it will be fast and tough, just as the freo/crows game was this week. We will need to be on our game to win, it is fast and furious over there. This week’s game in Perth was the best AFLW game l have seen and at a very high standard, not something you can always say about AFLW. It should suit our style, but we will need to bring our best.

Posted this in the VFLW thread:

Megan Fitzsimon had 19 disposals, 5 clearances, 3 marks and a goal yesterday in VFLW.  Freo are quick so good runners, able tacklers and players with neat skills will be all important next week.  Hope she gets a recall.

@DeeSpencer agree with you that it’s time for Scott to have rest this week.  Gillard is going well and seems more poised with ball in hand vs Gaby, who is more frenzied and unpredictable.

Lampard worries me.  She has a good kicking action but her passes don’t always end up with a teammate.  Gay took some kick-outs yesterday so Mick may seen this too.  Also Casey Sheriff appeared hestitant at times yesterday and wonder if this was due to her recent concussion.  Next week will be a grind at Freo, very physical so hope she is ok.

I would be very tempted to bring Colvin back in. Also Scott has looked tired and out of pace all season.

I also would like to see FItzsimon back in the team. No issue with a young player getting dropped back to VFL level to spend more time on the ground, but I think she is best 21 at this point. Either Parry or Scott can come out.

I have been impressed by Colvin this year, and would also bring her in depending on the height in the Fremantle forward line.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here - we are finding a way to win games against good sides, but we are still a fair way off the level needed to beat Adelaide.

Nice inclusions, Gaby Colvin and Megan Fitzsimon.  We will give it a crack tomorrow!

Parry dropped! I'm shocked

Good to see Fitzsimon back in. Gillard hasn't done anything wrong but Colvin experience will be needed as the defence will be under the pump against Freo

Thought this would have read like - Meggs likes the ins this week.

@Meggs

If we lose, Parry was clearly the glue holding it all together, we just couldn't see it.

Top 2 spot up for grabs tmrw evening. Will be tough.
