I forget the exact number but it was around $180 for annual overseas membership which includes watchafl.

Thanks FND

Maybe simply subscribe to AFL then.

Yes, but do it through the club rather than directly with the AFL to be registered as a Melbourne member and ensure that some of your money finds its way to the Club. You get exactly the same service either way.

The Citroen is going well, thanks. Some minor problems, but they are to be expected with a car that old.

Hi FD.    Since installing my 2022 voucher on my iPhone I've NOT been able to watch any pre 2022 replays.  Frustrating with no footy to watch for months.
Crazy thing is, older replays have worked on my girlfriends computer (though I don't watch footy at her place)!?
Would love to get pre 2022 replays on iPhone though.   Cheers

May be an Apple app issue? I've renewed mine again this year and no problem with replays back to 2017 on Samsung tablet

Can this be watched with a VPN?

No it cannot be watched with a VPN.  BUT if you tune your VPN to Australia you can watch Games live anyway through KAYO or Channel 7..   I do not understand the merits of the question - sorry

Just checking here for subscribers that:

- people have received their codes

- the codes work (!). Got mine yesterday, but showing "voucher not valid".

To reply to my own question/comment: I never got the voucher to work, but one day when I went online it said I had a valid subscription. It seems that the vouchers didn't work for some users.

Not going to go through this again next year though, will just do WatchAFL directly. Subscribing through the AFL/club has been flakey as all hell for me, and nothing changes from one year to the next.

To clarify this. KAYO and Channel 7 are actively blocking VPNs. A number of the major ones like ExpressVPN, SurfShark will not work. For the tech-minded folks, this is because KAYO runs on AWS (amazon web services) through their CloudFront CDN, which is regularly updated to block VPN traffic originating from their data centers or other major cloud providers.

The one that always seems to work is Bullet VPN, as they run their servers (I think, but not sure) across multiple private data centers and change the IPs regularly to avoid getting blocked. I used Bullet all summer to watch the cricket on Kayo and never had an issue. You can run Bullet (like most VPNs) either as a browser-based VPN or as an app on your desktop/laptop.

BUT you can't use Kayo as a mobile app overseas no matter what VPN you have running. The reason is KAYO is smart enough to demand your location be on before being used as an app on your phone, so running the VPN on your phone will not work because the app will also use location as a secondary line of defense. You can't change that either; KAYO won't run without location. It makes me question the legality of that regarding personal privacy, but there is probably a loophole so they get away with it.

So the solution here is to run BulletVPN (or any other not blocked by KAYO) on your laptop and then use AirPlay or Chromecast to cast to your television to watch whatever it is you want to get around the location tracking issue

Well delivered. I live overseas and sign up for AFL live stream, that way I get everything I need to watch AFL with every game every week, every year going back to 2017. Then there is the web address of "My heart beats true" which brings everything together. oops as well as Demonland...

Okay thanks Kit.
Do you (or anyone) know if that means I should delete the WatchAFL app, then install it again and re-install the voucher code?
Would the code work again after being used twice so far (my iPhone plus girlfriends iMac, which replays fine)?    Thanks

I just paid for the international membership and was wondering when and how people got their voucher? Is the process that you renew a 12 month subscription on the Watchafl website and the code just makes it $0 (given that I already paid the club directly)

I hope I get it before the game!! My fault for leaving it so late, but I thought the voucher would come instantly...

If anyone's having trouble with the code, drop the club a line. It's a BS system in my opinion, and very flakey. My code never worked this year, but I got a message from WatchAFL saying that they were having problems with some codes/members. (presumably not just MFC). In the meantime they'd rolled over my subscription from last year so I'm good to go, but my code never worked. Amongst all that I lost the first 3 weeks of the women's AFL.

After paying through the mfc website I got an email a few hours later with the voucher code. Or actually it had a link that when I clicked on it (already having logged into watchafl) that it automatically subscribed me for the year.

Happy days and the stream worked fine for me all game.

  • 1 year later...

Hoping someone can advise…

An MFC international membership grants access to watchafl.com. But how does one access it?

Asking for a friend. No I really am asking for a close friend who is a former Demonlander and who now lives overseas.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I got an email once my membership was processed. In the email was instructions for creating an account etc. I would recommend you ask your friend to check their junk inbox as that’s where my email ended up.

Hope this helps.

I’ll definitely pass this on and hopefully it’s a similar situation to yours and therefore it works out for him. Thank you, BDF. 🙂

Edit: Do you remember how much time passed between buying your membership and receiving that email?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
