That is great value as 3-game memberships had similar member rights for finals tickets, except the GF, in 2018.  If our finals are at the G they are almost guaranteed to get a ticket to those games.

I'm almost tempted to sign up a few friends just in case I need extra finals tickets.

Is the code simply 'Gus and Gawny'?

Just check the podcast.

interesting that nearly all reserved seats are sold out

only ones left are coterie membership at $3740!

surely that will make new memberships harder

Probably why they are flogging the 3 gamers

why not just allocate more reserved seat areas?

It looks like the 'reserved seat' and 'reserved bay' options include the GFG and they have a limited number of GFG's they can issue..

So they need a category with a reserved seat but not a GFG.  It may be too late to create this for 2022 but a good option for 2023.

yes, they made some change this year that all reserved seats came with a gfg with no exception

the previous 2 years you could get a reserved seat without gfg but it wasn't an option onlne. you had to ring up to get it or rollover from previous year if applicable.

so if you want a reserved seat can you just buy a ga membership then each week get onto ticketek to upgrade to reserved seat?

that wouldn't make a lot of people very happy

The limited GFG's is the reason they can't allocate more reserved seat areas as you suggested a few posts back.

yeah, i can see that, but surely the solution is easy

probably some stupid afl directive

Yes, to have reserved seat memberships not linked to GFG.  I'm pretty sure Richmond has them.

The club told me we get a different barcode for each game.  This makes it tricky for GA members to upgrade to a reserved seat each game as we don't get the barcode number until 72 hours before the game whereas ticket sales open about 3 weeks before the game and as I understand it Ticketek require a barcode number to upgrade to reserve seats.  🤔  So the 'best' seats may be gone by the time barcode numbers arrive.

They hold back some of the better bays until closer to the game. M54 only went on sale two days before the game which is the best bay in the olympic stand for non reserved members and not alcohol free bays. Similar things happen with level 2 corporate allocations that go unused.

Thanks.  That is reassuring to know.

Do you have any idea the likelihood of dee fans getting a 'good' seat ie not level Q for the ANZAC Eve game.  I believe we can only buy them when Public sales open up.

That's incorrect. There's two barcodes one for your membership and a ticket barcode that is the qr code to scan in. You can upgrade to a reserve seat with your membership barcode but it's not easy to find what that is without your physical membership. It was emailed with the ticketing info for round 1. Bit of a [censored] show really.

i got a card (decoration only) but it has your membership number on it. don't need a barcode for ticketek, just your membership number.

i think you meant you meant to say membership number when you said membership barcode

at least i think this how ticketek works with a ga member seat booking/upgrade

Have continued this conversation in the 'Tickets' thread as more relevant there.

I can't even find the barcode logging in to the online account (not the app)

I hope 65-70k is the target for this year.

If we can snag another flag in the next 2-3 years we should be able to solidfy a good portion of those and start getting some younger admirers that are converts from other clubs.

If we can go anywhere near replicating Richmond's recent success, I think 80k is not out of the question in the relatively near future.

I'm an afl member with club support so I have my level 2A seat every game basically hehe.

But for Anzac Eve I suspect you will find that level 1 in the Ponsford will either all be GA or plenty of available reserved seating.

There will be plenty of red and blue there for an away game.

Also, bays M5-M8ish aren't in Richmond's reserved seat areas so you will also be able to reserve seats there.

Crowds are still well down this year so wouldn't be surprised if Anzac Eve doesn't crack 70K, especially if Richmond aren't good.

QB will be a similar story I suspect

Is there any point updating our membership tally going forward when they're all going to be of the Mickey Mouse 3 game buy one get one free variety? Surely the only metric that matters is how much actual $$$ we rake in at seasons end.

Yes, because everyone else does it.

Also, best way to start getting more people on full memberships is to start them on 3 games

Hi AJ. I'm not sure that every other club doing it is a valid reason. I don't see much point in announcing we have 60,000 members for example if 10,000 of them were given away free although it probably explains why GWS are supposed to have 30,000 members when their ground is always empty on tv.

Im pretty sure this bit is true: A few years ago only memberships that were worth $50+ counted.

This bit may not be: During that season St Kilda’s progressive membership count actually went down at one stage as they had to discard their freebies from their tally.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
