Freo will have pick #13 in the draft which would have to be a starting point for any trade.

With their future first at around the same level it is equivalent to Pick #3, altho as a rule I don't like using the draft points system to assess a trade; the arithmetic works but the odds of an elite player are much lower.

But with a trade like that we can get two players for one or package the picks up and draft an elite player.

I wouldn't be surprised if Freo regress next year and miss finals so their future first may will be a top 10 pick. They've a similar system to us and a similarly dysfunctional forward line. Dogga won't solve that for them. The game has moved on from overly defensive game plan

I reckon this years and next years first rounder gets it done

The mood on this forum has been feral today and a few posters have gone the man rather than the ball today, no doubt about it.

Definitely some bullies on Demonland, without naming names.

A lot of man playing around here Edward. Imagine we met at a pub and started talking about the Demons. Then imagine someone gave an opinion and gets called a nuffie or numpty to his/her face because of that opinion. What would happen then?
Bullies should be called out.

I'd be telling fremantle to get that pick 10 or 11 or whatever it is off the dogs in the Lobb trade and give us 11, 13 and Meek

2 first rounders and a young developing ruckman is fair for a bloke they think is work 7 mil

I doubt they will get the dog's first pick for Lobb even if they throw in Logue.

Freo will probably be bottom end of the 8 next year so their 2020 first will be in the 11-13 range so not a lot of diff with this year's dog's first.  mfc is pragmatic and will to the deal that gets us the player's picks we want.  If we want Meek we may give them a 3rd round pick back with the two firsts.

Of course if we take Grundy, Pies will be pushing for one of those first round picks.

I think my take on this would be that it's up to Fremantle to work it out, but 2 x first rounders for 22 is a good start, i'd be spitting chips if we gave up a first rounder for Grundy given they're pushing him out the door

If the trade ended up being essentially Jackson for Grundy would you be happy or kick tailgates?

I’d be kicking more than tailgates layz.

I desperately hope we don't give Coll a first, in fact I would prefer not to get him at all.  But I fear that we will get him and give up a first or equivalent for him, not necessarily one of Freo's.   Just don't see them accepting a second for him which will be in the 30's.  Our future first might get it done which for a player around $700k looks about right.

It depends on what other trades Coll want to do.  Perhaps not as desperate for a first for Grundy now that Taranto and Hopper have nominated Richmond.  The other trades mooted for them are Hill from GWS and Frampton from Port which won't be first rounders or anything like it.

How old is Meek? Don't need him have faith in Weid as cover for Gawn and Grundy. I think pick 32 should be enough to get Grundy.

Only way I can see them getting the dogs first rounder is with their future first + Lobb. Even then I would think that unlikely.

Too old for a developing ruckman

Yeah, I wouldn’t put him in your 22 just yet…

I really like the thought of getting pick 11 and 13 and Grundy will really set us up for the future.

And Treacy.
Give up a pick 3 Premiership Rising Star at 21years old for 11 and 13?

NO.

I would be happy with Treacy, the Cadman pick needed and Meek/or a later first rounder.

I'd be interested in Treacy. I don't know much about him. Meek not interested.

GWS might do their pick 3 for 11 and 13 to get us Cadman.  They will be drowning in first round (and later) picks after the Hopper, Taranto, Hill and Bruhn trades and not many noises of who they might get in to replace them.  As it is they have 3, 21, 39 etc

But if the club wants Grundy I can't see how we get a high enough pick for Cadman.  Anyway will WCE take at pick 2 to replace Kennedy...

Agreed, Mundy alone will be an impossible gap for them to fill, on and off the field.

I’m reading that “GWS will ask Richmond for a trade deal that includes two first rounders for Jacob Hopper.” If that’s what Hopper’s worth, what price Jackson?

I have a strong feeling that LJ might stay given comments by Gerard Healy and word coming out of Perth. That said, Goodwindees believes its a done deal that he is going.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
