The posts on this page are going to look hilarious after we smash the Cats

I know I am one of the worst offenders. I have made a lot of posts since yesterdays debacle, the majority of them irrational and maniacal

If you scan back to the board after round 2 last year, and round 3, it would have been much of the same thing

We will destroy the Cats next week, make no mistake. They are an average team, whom we have the wood over in the last few of years.

the Demons are just slow starters, we should know that by now

A multi pronged forward line next week of Miller, Sylvia, Yze, PJ Davey and Newton will give Geelong fits. They wont know who to put on who.

HF - Sylvia Miller Davey

F - Yze Newton PJ

Sylvia to boot 5, Newtton 4

Order will be restored this Sunday at the G

Demons by 45!!!

Aaah yes. YM is the cheese in the demonland gourmet sandwich.

My prediction. A loss by 1 point.

Why?

Have a look at the dees form compared to that of this time last year...

Round 1 2006 - Woeful opening. No players playing well. Just the one good one who was unexpected (Carroll).

Round 1 2007 - Woeful opening. No players playing well. Just the one good one who was unexpected (Moloney).

Round 2 2006 - Slightly better. Played two good quarters. Gameplan was a touch more improved. The two lesser quarters were downright diabolical. 10 goal loss.

Round 2 2007 - Slightly better. Played two good quarters. Gameplan was a touch more improved. The two lesser quarters were downright diabolical. The only reason it wasn't a 10 goal loss was the Hawks' inaccuracy.

Round 3 2006 - A game we had no right to even get close to winning. Crows had been pretty good, and we were away. Thanks to some inspirational efforts, among them a shot on goal at the death by one Aaron Davey we nearly got up. The three early losses galvanised the team and we went on a spree for the next 12 weeks losing one match to the eventual premiers.

Round 3 2007 - ?

This could be an all time classic Yze_Magicism.

I should just let it go, but I can't. I need to comment on this.

As it stands, right now on form, that could be the WORST forwardline ever. EVER!!!!!!

The two "big names" of the group in Davey and Yze are so badly out of form, they will be lucky to get a game. Newton, if he plays, will be making his debut in senior football. Sylvia has had an interrupted pre season, and while he will probably be picked this week, in his brief senior career for Melbourne, hasn't gone close to even looking like kicking 5 goals in a game. Do I need to comment on PJ? Perhaps a good start for him would be to get his hands above his head to take a mark. Then he can focus on dominating a game of AFL football.

You left out Miller, who actually had a dip yesterday. But I think 3 goals in a game is the maximum you'll get out of him.

The only fits that forwardline will produce, is the fits of laughter I had when you suggested it will kick a score big enough to beat the Cats by 45 points.

I'm not writing Melbourne off for this week, footy is a funny game. But I can't see a 45 point margin, especially if you are relying on the likes of Newton, Sylvia and PJ to kick a winning score.

since there has been some hindsight in this thread re last year and this years performances, I don't suppose someone could do a similar comparison to the errrrr mood of this board in comparison to the same time last year?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
