Any coach wouldn't stand for this garbage. From a fans perspective, it seems that the type of locker-room mentality is far off from every other of the 15 AFL clubs. Be it playing only for money or playing for the sake of it, each player has to be put on notice. If I were coach, and fair enough many of you will totally disagree and laugh at me, but I wouldn't think twice of dropping Bruce, Green, Yze, Jonno and Davey. They have consistently been off the radar when they shouldn't be. None of them are superstars. None. Bruce and Jonno probably had the biggest chances of getting into the category, but they've passed that stage now. If Daniher can't come out and say that those players, and name them, are playing like dogs, then he just doesnt have the ability to lead a team to a premiership. If every other premiership coach can do that, he has to as well. Put them on notice. Let them know it's more than just a pay cheque.

Settle down and remember that what you're putting in writing is here for everyone to see and remember.

How so many people on this forum are having a go from their armchairs at Cam Bruce is beyond me. The guy is not flawless, and that's why his name isn't James Hird or Michael Voss. But he was fantastic on the weekend, and had we had 22 Bruce's in the side over the past few years, we would be a very very good side. He also never shirks a contest, runs all day and plays selflessly - will go to full back and blanket Brad Johnson, will go forward and kick goals, will tag or play make. Get a grip.

Astrodee is providing a balanced assessment. I actually think that at year's end, barring a GF, Malthouse would be perfect for our list - but would he want to go from Coll to Melb, no doubt for less $$?

Calabrese - the only thing u said in your last post that is right is that people will laugh at it. Re Bruce, see above. Re Davey, he has had a handful of bad games in his whole career. Yze has been elite and did get dropped (and let me tell you, he was last week's scapegoat).

The players are full of complacency, not giving their all. Not turning up to play. Poor application. Poor intensity, etc, etc. IMO the graffiti is splattered all over the wall.

The coach as we all know is a 'good bloke" but 10 years is enough

Bruce is a leader. And he always will be. He needs to lead by example. He was in our best on Monday. I admit that. But Davey and Jonno weren't and we've played two games we should of won and played very poorly, and these high end and highly ranked players did nothing, for the 2nd week in a row. You don't think they should be made an example of? Why should players like Godfrey and Brown be dropped and play at sandy, when they seem to be the only ones who appear to play for the jumper. they shouldnt be made an exmaple of. what will that achieve. Nothing. I get more out of Godfrey putting in a game where he plays at his best, which he pretty much did on Monday, then watching Green spend 90% of the day standing with his hands on his hips on the southern stand wing, when HE is meant to be one of the guys leading this club. You can laugh at me wanting those players dropped, but it will put them in the situation where they know they can't afford to play games with little to no effort because that's not what leaders do. Jonno has never appeared interested in 10 seasons. And you've still seen how good he can play. Send him to sandy. Make him know what it takes to be Godfrey for a week, play as hard as u can and play above your standard just to play on the MCG. It hurts me when I pay to see our leaders, our higher ended players do nothing, 2 weeks in a row, when we needed them, and players coming in from Sandy who do a lot of the work.

C 'mon 'Choko', I remember a (cough) very good coach in Bobby Skilton saying if only we had 18 steven smiths we'd win everything. Stop kidding yourself.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
