God bless? What is "woke" about Kate Roffey?

She doesn’t have a you-know-what’s-it?

This has nothing to do with Bartlett.

KR was elected President with one ambition, one KPI.  That's is to use her close ties with the Andrew's Government to convince them to back our MGC precedent Social Club & Training facility.  If you ask KR she speaks openly that this is why she was elected and this is her mission. Her skill set and network outside of this is limited for a football club.

Good luck to her.

Why so churlish?

You sign off on all these posts with a passive aggressive aside of encouragement, but I don’t know who you’re kidding.

Put up your massive concerns or complaints or put your dismissiveness to the side.

Or keep posting this stuff on a forum and tell us to calm down as you get your reaction…

Sorry mate, auto correct on my mobile phone.

Are you suggesting because I quoted a spelling mistake that I a dumb?

For the record, I have seen her CV.

What I have said is correct.

Just like the correct use of the english language.

To be honest, that would put her one up against Bartlett. Incremental improvement!

Hats off to Kate Roffey. Kate will not be going to Perth due to the limited number of MFC people allowed into WA. I am sure Kate could have found a way to be included in the party of 55 but she put others ahead of herself. A real leader.....

I really hope Victoria make it incredibly hard for WA teams/supporters to get into Victoria once we open up.

That comes across as quite nasty, vindictive and childish, Doug.

Why would you want to punish innocent players and supporters?

Kate will ultimately be judged on whether she delivers a home base or not. In this regard her CV is impeccable. I don't think there is another man or woman more qualified for the job

And I haven't seen her pushing a woke agenda either unless advocating for the women's team is considered woke.

I don't care which way she leans but if we get stuck in the carpark of collingwoods facility then she has failed!

Better to be woke than asleep at the wheel, I suppose.

May I Re-Phrase. I hope the Victorian Government & AFL make make it incredibly hard for WA teams.

But why?  It just sounds like immature retribution along the "two wrongs make a right" school of thought.

This pandemic is not about politics.  It is a major health issue that impacts on people regardless of who they vote for.

This Pandemic has become a Political [censored] Measuring contest. McGowern smugly said on radio "He didn;t pay a cent for the GF too."

Does not make sense Doug. If it is a political issue then why penalise players and the supporters of those teams? Anyway it is an absurd proposition.

We can put our hats back on.

Roffey has made it to Perth according to channel 7. Kochie has been denied entry.

Tom Browne and Sam McClure have also made the trip - because apparently  Perth doesn’t have journalists and TV news sports reporters

Gutter journalism is an essential profession it seems.

Sam M is a lot better than Browne.

I am biased because I know Sam but he is pretty good IMO. He is also cut from the Caro cloth of destroying his club when they deserve it as he has done with his beloved Blues.

He doesn’t offend me. Browne though is a dweeb.

Since Kate has gone to Perth can I put my hat back on?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
