Essendon dominating, about 65% time ball in hand = 1 goal 4 behinds. Dogs looking pretty much all at sea for most of it = 2 goals 1 behind. If Dogs get their game going (no guarantees) they will romp home. Bombers re sprinting and kicking and doing all the stuff but look unable to captalise.

Because they have no one who even resembles a key forward

I know it’s a small thing in the current climate, but gee I wish the AFL would demand consistency in the camera angles and heights at all AFL grounds.

At smaller grounds the angle is much lower and so as an audience it’s much more difficult to judge the distances in kicks and between players. It makes for a completely different viewing experience.

With 95% of the audience of games not at the ground (hence the value of the broadcast contract) the least they could do is spend 20k on scaffolding and make it visually consistent.

My hope is for an Essendon dream run that gets them into the grand final only to come up against a brick wall that in retrospect everyone agrees that no one was beating that year.

Either that or for them to never win a final ever again. Either option works for me.

I love the thought of this but geez, wouldn’t wanna run the risk of the worst happening.

Jesus the Dogs are soft. Lazy two way running. Absolutely disappointing in every way.

Ha, the boo is back!

Lucky Weightman and English are out there today for the Dogs.

That's a terrible decision against Draper.

Bulldogs defensive running is appalling!

God i am so sick of these Essendon fans booing evrytime the opposition has a shot at goal regardless of how they won the ball.

Such a loser mentality is hard to fathom.

Can’t stand the bombers supporters. They boo  every decision. Seem recall them constantly doing that against melb too.

What’s up with the red stuff on Draper’s hands and shorts?
He looks like Jules and Vincent from Pulp Fiction after they blew that guy’s head off by accident! 😳

I can see Weightman becoming one of the most hated players in the league

Assume it's the paint from the forward 50 lines. Max had a blue spot on his head last night.

Bulldogs are honestly the most blessed team when it comes to dodgy umpiring decisions their way. 3 goals from frees.

Nope Geelong have them covered.

Always ducks into tackles forcing a high tackle.

Always acts like a smartarze [censored].

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
