I don't get why people get so emotional and critical of peoples opinions - no need to get nasty.

Dude said he’s hoping to break the record for the most facepalm emojis for one post. He said he’d wear it as a badge of honour. This is very telling. Whether or not he truly believes what he originally posted, obviously he has intentionally set out with the objective of pi$$ing people off. And… it worked!
If I knew how to quote multiple posts at one time I’d quote @Colin B. Flaubert’s post. So instead ima just bump it.

It beggars belief to me that an AFL captain, who has made a massive mistake isn't considered a trade target by demonlanders.

Tall forwards are an area of deficiency for Melbourne and we could get him for next to nothing.

Again I don't condone racism and am uncfortable that we call Mark Williams choco given he said it was based on racism to begin with in an SEN interview but he didn't care anymore.

Wrecker, this isn't just a mistake it demonstrates he as a leader is contributing actively to the casual racism that is prevalent in society despite the benefit of shared experience from senior indigenous players such as Eddie Betts.

I'm all for redemption but for Tex the best thing he can do is front up to his club, show how sorry he is, do work with indigenous groups, and then use his experience to help address the problem of casual racism.

The Crows official who reported him to the AFL should be commended.

In answer to question NFW

GAWWWD what next do we sign Hannibal Lecter and Count Yorga as our mids???

Click on the + to the left of the 'Quote' button for each post you would like to quote.  A tally will appear on the bottom right corner of the screen.  When done click on the tally and all appear in the comment section of the thread, in the order in which they were selected.

Thanks for the feedback Wrecker, I appreciate it.

I've never warmed to Taylor, and personally, I'm all in favour of redemption, is Taylor a rigid/permanently fixed racist... I doubt it.

But... I struggle to seperate on certain issues. eg: Very very pleased I haven't heard Michael Jackson on the radio in numerous years.

However it appears with Taylor, there have been a range of laddish, insensitive experiences over the course of his career, that wouldn't necessarily fit in with the culture that Goodwin has created (or society sanctioned). Do we as a club expend energy on one person to mould them at this point of time for them, or for us? Nah... I don't think so.

If we're to speak about the industry as a bubble of employment, then each club has indigenous staff/players, on your last point - it shouldn't be up to indigenous individuals to have to be present, to 'stamp it out'.

Times are changing, and rapidly so... and thank gawd for that... just not soon enough....now would be great... How soon is now?

*cough* massive segue coming up...

Speaking of bigotry, as Morrissey once sang... 'How soon is now....

Randomly, if I'm fitting the lyrics  of that song on to either of the individual - I'm not sure which individual it fits, the victim or the perpetrator...potentially both.

I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
Of nothing in particular

You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does

There's a club if you'd like to go
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home and you cry
And you want to die

When you say it's gonna happen now
When exactly do you mean?
See I've already waited too long
And all my hope is gone

You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does:

How has Morrissey gone from being a poet of the underdog to the biggest [censored] in modern music? I’m as conflicted by him as you are by Michael Jackson (and I love The Smiths).

Which brings me to another point. In the 21st century we need a word that highlights we appreciate the work of an artist while acknowledging the artist is a complete piece of [censored]. Picasso, Michael Jackson, Kevin Spacey, Louis CK and on and on. The list is growing every day. It could certainly apply to footballers too.

I think Matthew Whelan, Steven May, Kozzy Pickett and Neville Jetta would be pretty disappointed if we recruited him.

I’d usually say more Poe’s Law, but he’s more or less stated he’s here to trigger people.

I’m pretty sure he’s probably embarrassed given the responses and hence trying to deflect.

But if he’s trolling then why wouldn’t we have a zero tolerance policy and ban him as I have zero patience for that type of behaviour.

I'd let Kossi, Steven, Nev et al make the call.

Given that Nev and Kozzy have already posted about it on social media, I'd say the answer from the players is a resounding 'no'.

Which means there's nothing more to discuss.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
