I hate Tom Papley so much that I’d love him to come to us.

Top 4 locked in.

what a day!

Not yet.

We still need at least one win to ensure Brisbane can't pass us, and at least two if Sydney beat Essendon (regardless of the result of GWS v Port, too).

How filthy would you be as a Lions fan?

Zero effort for 3 Quarters and then 8 goals in the last. Far out.
Top 4 on the line and they choke

We all know that feeling too well

True but if we can’t win one of our last 3 games we don’t deserve top 4. We are just about there. Very unlikely the others win all remaining games also

Will a Jeelong v Melbourne Final in 2021 be automatically held at the MCG with crowds being low?

There's a contract with the MCC that has to be honoured doesn't it?

The MCC/MFC alliance has to be worth something doesn't it?

Sorry, I forgot how this really all works - we'd be screwed over big time, but wouldn't it be even sweeter beating them on the one and only time the GF if played on their dung mound?

Is Eddie Maguire getting early onset dementia. Just stated Swans have won by two points and it only 3 qtr time.

After today Sydney finish with St Kilda, North and Gold Coast.

If they win today they'll have won 5 straight against 5 sides better than those three (West Coast, Dogs, GWS, Fremantle, Essendon if they win).

They are the threat right now. If they win today we still need another two to be sure of holding them off.

It is an outside chance. But Week 1 if we are 3rd, be ready for a Jeelong outburst

12.2 in the second half to Sydney. They just can't miss, and Essendon can't stop them.

Sydney are a huge threat for our top 4 spot. The way they're playing it's hard to see them losing to St Kilda, North or the Gold Coast.

Seeing Franklin play well today really irritates me - he 100% should be suspended and sitting in the stands.

Could this be just  one more example of corruption at the top?  (Just asking)

I'm barracking for a Swans loss rather than a bombers win

Ok, ima try that instead. ?

Yep. We have to win 2 of 3 to make top 4. O fear that won’t happen. Looks like 5th spot for us.

Man, you’re making it so hard to want Essendon to lose. ?

Damn Swans getting the job done on Essendon I think.

We just have to keep winning.
nothing wrong with that

Anyone caught barracking for Essendon could face penalties...

if the Giants and tigers lose there will be a team in the 8 with 8 wins with only 3 rounds remaining. We could have the worst ever finals  team this year

if anyone is wondering when we got to 8 wins this year, it was in round 8

?

So the status is this:

  1. Three more wins guarantees top 2
  2. Two more wins guarantees top 4
  3. One more win is not enough for top 4 unless and until Sydney loses a game (or Port loses twice)

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
