Any news ??

We don't even know the % of crowd allowed in to matches yet or the home and away allocation from the %.

Reports yesterday suggest that we will know by Tuesday. From reports AFL wants 50% but would be happy with 25-30%.

Thanks Sir

hope its soon as we need to get as good a crowd as possible

Absolute guess here but if it's 30,000 maximum (30%), the allocation could be spread as follows:

6,000 MCC members

4,500 AFL members (Ess and Melb support packages with priority)

18,000 Essendon members

1,500 MFC members.

A lot of your rank and file MFC supporters will need to wait until the GWS game next week.

Thankfully Brian Taylor isn't on the Saturday night roster for Ch 7.

Whilst we've had our fair share or FTA games lately, we've also had more than enough of BT.

18,000 vs 1,500? Is that the proportional difference in our member numbers? ;-)

I could very well be wrong but I think the MCG will be 50% and Marvel the 15-20%

The journo's have gone with 15-30% since yesterday for both venues.

Hopefully it will be 50% for our GWS game the following week, although we could probably accommodate everyone at 25% if we're being honest for that fixture.

No, but I reckon they'll give the majority of members tickets to the home team.

Any BT is too much BT.

I expect they'll cramm everyone in to one small section of the G as per the usual safe practice.

Prof. Sutton said they do that coz it’s easier to monitor a crowd that’s all confined to one space; to make sure everyone is adhering to the covid rules. If that’s the case, couldn’t they put on extra staff to monitor more areas? It’s not rocket science.

Of course... very similar to herding cattle or sheep

Perhaps a few kelpies to keep us all in our places may not go astray

Therein lies the problem.

I think it is for some.

After the  2020 season and continuing virus problems this year the game as pretty much become a tv game for me. I would much prefer to be at games but for a few reasons it is too hard till mid August. So you all will not need to worry about me taking your place at the G. Enjoy everyone.

6000 MCC spots, will be quite the battle getting one. Wonder when they'll go on sale.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
