" Not news to no one'  actually means it's news to everyone.

I said OD It's not news "AS NO ONE went to footy live "

Which alters completely what you have stated !

Expand

OD it means FYI that your comment that you didn't go to the footy last year was NO NEWS  For or to anyone as it was Locked Out  to All Victorians  all season.

IE it was "meaningless news " even worse than fake news!!!

Any way if you don't understand this comment then let's move on  as you altered my comment completely.

Last Friday I got an email from the club talking about going to the first game. It said among other things I would get another email on Monday.

So far Zip.

Anyone get the second email?

No emails from the club as yet either. Disappointingly I also never received an email from the club regarding the availability of member tickets to Mondays game at Marvel.

First post and already complaining! Haha you’ll fit in just fine here. Welcome NightWalker.

If pre-season ticketing is anything to go by AFL Members with club support WILL get priority access. I was able to get a ticket during the members purchase period.

We get some afl.com.au items on our website off their website like Community Series other events or rules for eg.

These have the advice of times for  tickets often links to tickets Booking.

Or simply go to www.afl.com.au website and find info on AAMI Community Series and the info should be there.

Well Monday’s email turned up this afternoon setting out the procedure for getting entree to MFC home games. Seems fairly easy as long the computer system holds up. There will be no late decisions on going to a game apply early in the week or stay home.

I’m glad there’s information in the email regarding reserved seat members. Can’t guarantee we get the same seat but have the option to choose seats nearby.

A maximum group booking of 6 might be a bit of a hurdle for families or friends that like to go together.

Anyone know what the procedure will be for MCC members

Probably something similar to other areas Will stilll need a Covid  safe seat.

some questions on round 1 tickets

membership card or phone facsimile won't get us into games. must book on ticketek using a barcode number emailed to you by club. cost for ticketek is $0. Members can book on tues before game (i.e. next tue) followed on later days by general public.

1. will we get our paid for reserved seats? I doubt it for social distancing rules, so where will be allocated?

2. i will be getting a member ticket for myself and eldest grandson. Younger grandson (not member) wants to come too. I can't book his ticket on members day so will have to book later which means he will be seated on his onesome which is not acceptable (too young). Any ideas?

Use another members code number. I believe as long as you use all on the one booking it will be ok. You can use mine if you wish DC as I wont  be risking the virus.

Edited by old dee

That is unfortunate daisycutter. I also believe it is not necessary. Maybe find emptier part of ground and hope you strike a decent ground staff.

another question

3) gov allocation is about 50K. I doubt they will presell 50K, so will general admittance be available at ground on walkup basis (or even by membership card) if presell numbers are less than 50K?

No walk up in the traditional sense but I assume you can buy online at anytime (including while standing outside the gates).

Reserved seat ticketing is a requirement for covid planning of any event. Can't see it changing this season.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
