I am in the camp that says Oliver and Viney can't play in the same midfield

And that Oliver should move fwd. Viney is doing OK and has a ferocious attack on the ball but Oliver we are getting nowhere near the value out of him that we should be. His disposal is rubbish and he puts other players under way too much pressure 

We need more composure in the middle. Trac has it now and maybe a Salem or brayshaw would be better in the short term.

Me too A F, a few words from Bernie and all of a sudden it is the players fault. While they have some of the blame to take IMO they are trying to implement the impossible. Not only over a season but over the length of a game.

At the risk of releasing a great hue and cry against me:  our ex-captains have been culprits for their whole careers.  And that rubs off on the new arrivals setting off a new cycle of selfish play. 

The coach needs to find a circuit breaker once and for all.

As an aside it sounds a bit like Bernie has gone in to bat for his mate.

We saw some flashes of "unselfish" team first play in 2017 & 2018 LH.

However, the tyre received a puncture vs WC in the prelim and has never been properly attended to since imv. 

Too many seem happy to just get to jog out on to the field in most matches.

Deeplorable with a few 'individual' exceptions since that match and an occasional decent win against the lessor lights that the players appear to hang their hat on.  Then all to easily drift back to selfish mediocrity shortly thereafter against the rated clubs.

My view is that some/most players don't trust their teammates to execute - and so don't give them the ball, try to take on the tackler or do it all themselves until they get into trouble and cough it up or give the ball to a teammate in an even worse predicament who then turns it over.

Sure, they all might be mates, however we're never going to win a flag without the team having inherent trust in the abilities of all 22 on the field.

Even Barassi has said the Dees of the 50's/60's weren't a team of superstars.

Not trusting your teammates or believing you are better at executing than they are is probably the same thing - it could be seen as selfish.

We would be well served sharing the ball around - albeit in a more organised fashion. We don’t have guys running to support, we don’t have guys running to create space through false leads or shepherds. Forward or sideways handballs to flat footed players facing the wrong way is absolutely killing us (Oliver)

It’s junior football stuff to get through rough patches by bringing each other into the game. Get a bit of enthusiasm amongst the group if you are rewarded for effort
