Sounds terrible.

Why.?  BBrown is approaching 28Yrs of age.

Brayshaw is 24.

We might have something else they like.?

I'd prefer BBrown over Daniher,  to play that same role.

I'd stay away from Daniher.   While he's on the bummers list,  he's chewing on their cap space.   Which could mean we might claim another of their list.?  What about Parish,  What is Fantasia like.?

I wasn't saying go for Daniher, I was saying Saad's offer from the Bombers may be connected to Daniher's contract offer as far as the salary cap goes.

Parish & Fantasia aren't really the types I would consider a priority at the moment.

Saad should be happy he is getting a wage during these times

$400,000 a year not enough??

wish i had been able to say that during my working days!!

Parish is an outside mid with skills;  But I don't know Fantasia, other than he's been talked about in trade discussions past, and he's a small forward I believe.  Don't know if he's quick, skilled or what.?

Ben Brown is a star. He is not going anywhere. He would immediately be arguably our best player.

Parish is yet to really prove himself and I don't really think he would add much to our mix personally,

Fantasia I like, but I don't think the cost v need analysis weighs up right now.

You don't want him.?  Star yes.

What do Nth want from us.?

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Try imagining your Alan Aylett,  and you want to build your kanga's for the longer term  and to strengthen the side.  They aren't going anywhere in a hurry in the next 2 seasons.

And they need to add many players.

They would laugh at Brayshaw for Brown.

So would I 'Hff'.

They would want something else as well probably.

Or perhaps they'd trade P-11 to us for Brays.?

It's an interesting one this, because I think Saad is exactly the type of player that is only good if you want to play a certain system. I thought we were going for an Adelaide zone system (circa 2017), but we seem to have drifted away from this and more towards territory with a pressing zone. This makes sense given our stoppage and contest work, but I think we need more strings to our bow. I'd support us targeting Saad if the coaching team were convinced we wanted to play a complimentary style to his gun and run game.

Saad's reluctance to do a contract deal right now is probably a similar reason to why I think it is somewhat futile and highly speculative in trying to hypothesize a deal for him - no one really knows what is going to happen to list sizes and salary caps etc for 2021.

Until that dust settles, I think the best move is for our football department to engage where they can with any player we might want to target comming out of contract, which to me includes covering for players we might not want to loose, but may well seek to play elsewhere.  I think we could have a significant issue on our hands in this later respects due to the shear number of players we have comming out of contract.

more likely their p-33

More like it.  For a number of reasons it is hard to see Bradshaw  currently valued highly by other Clubs. He is an unusual player in some ways. Hard nosed reputation but it is mostly from contests going forward of the ball. I may be wrong but cannot visualise his hard nosed approach in the backline. To me he loks like the strong, fit kid who always got selected to play in the middle  throughout his jjuniors. never learned other positions and got lots of on ball easy kicks.

Given that Tomlinson has gone into defence I wouldn't mind another gut running winger if our current gameplan persists.

I think if we are to target anyone, this is the guy.

I have real concerns about our exits out of D50 and I think we are a better side when we transition quickly into the forward line, like we did when we were at our best in 2018. Our forward set up is just no good with congestion.

This guy would compliment our back half or wing compliments nicely. Skilful and quick.

Trade for Goodwin and some cash (to us) then on-sell Saad for more cash and a 2nd rounder...win/win/win

Saad has also been very good with his defensive assignments. We've looked particularly vulnerable to the ground ball in defensive 50 since Nev has gone out of the side. A genuine two way player that helps genuine areas of weakness for Melbourne.  Makes too much sense.

I wouldn't want to attempt to turn Saad in to a winger, he's a natural defender. Got to look elsewhere to fix the wing situation.

Possibly Salem and Rivers shift up to the wings but I don't think either are best used there.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
