I expect a strong hit-out tomorrow. Minimum six goal win with the talent on the park. (Maybe reduced to four given our perceived confusion about exactly which game plan we're using atm.) It's time to get serious. Fluffing around will do none of the players any good regardless of new game plans. Just play old-fashioned hard footy, win the pill and whack it fast into the forward line. Very unscientific I realise, but ultimately it's a simple game. Beat your opponent and create unexpected and regular opportunities to score.

A win tomorrow may be a bonus but some like TJ having their first run for the season will not come back on even if we are losing. ND explained during the week on SEN that for example Maloney and White only played half a game against the Crows as pre planned. He expected Whitey to play a full game tomorrow. Each player has their own practice program set within the whole group.

There was always going to be a stronger team this weekend- the last two games were planned for the youngsters and if we won okay but there is a plan in place and players will not be pushed into full games too soon. The selections are not based on swinging the axe!

It is all about 4 points in 3 weeks and not winning practice matches.

Hard to believe this thread is serious.

I've seen it all now. Almost wish we lost by 10 goals just so i could laugh at some of the whinging by those "on the warpath"

It never was started as a fully serious thread; in fact it was done as a bit of a parody on those who you say are "on the warpath".

Nevertheless, you need a bit of balance as well and it is appropriate to question tactics and strategies used - even in practice matches.

I didn't think your comments were serious and the heading gave me a laugh. Other comments I found damn right sad.

I've no problem with questioning tactics and strategy, I do have a problem with people bleating about the club trialling something new in the preseason.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
