It takes four hours to sweep out all the misery, despair and broken dreams and get rid of the stench of gambling addiction.

Thanks, I was hoping the punters may go home and get the kids up ready for school, maybe prepare school lunches.

cleaners and money counting time

I went to the monthly market at the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve for the first time yesterday. Its a great location, and so easy to get to via rail at Caulfield station. I was half expecting the tunnel under the racecourse turf to be dark and dingy but it was pleasant. Really hoping the Dees can set up shop here for a permanent training home 👍

Looking like a complete bust the Fishermans bend redevelopment at this point.

2 thoughts (plus a bonus 3rd one)

1) glad we didnt go for it

2) could it be a cheaper option if needed now??? Would it be less of a bist woth the Dees there.

3) Caulfield a much stronger proposition

Thank you for your kind words @No. 31. Feel welcome to come visit any time.

BYO spray paint.

I would be expecting an announcement about our new home at Caulfield Racecourse, by the New President/CEO of the MFC at the AGM in December.

If you see "Sack Voss" spray painted in the Gate 21 tunnel, you know I visited 😁

I find that hard to believe , would you believe two AGM’s and an announcement …

I just said it in jest 😉 I'm all for giving Vossy another year or two now that we have some new coaching assistants, football department people and some disruptive influences have left. Just hoping to see savvy drafting & trading and some steady improvements over the next couple of years.

Feeling quietly confident that things are starting to move in better directions with Graham Wright as the CEO ... 2026 will be an interesting season ...

Not a fan of Cooky 'No.31'?

Certainly hope so Redleg.

There seems to be constant comment on power and influence, not to mention financial and political failures.

Lukewarm on him, not that he was poor but I get the feeling he didn't make some harder calls as he was in pre-retirement mode. But then again, he did bring in Graham Wright on his way out and turning around the HMAS Carlton FC is a long project 😁

Yep, I felt he thought he could grab a flag on the way out.

Would be good for the trophy cab...

it's a business that needs full commitment and it looks like you have the right man now.

Hopefully a never ending project.

I quite like what has been done in a short time with GW in the CEO seat already but he has been working at 400 Royal Parade, Carlton North for 10 months already so probably has a handle on the most pressing issues.

I am anticipating both the Blues and Dees to be contenders again in a few years, hopefully see some great tussles at the MCG in the near future ...

Melbourne v Carlton is actually the oldest club rivalry in footy stemming from the 1870s when the new sport transitioned from a winter novelty for cricket players to becoming something that is woven into the social fabric of this city. Clubs like Collingwood and Hawthorn did not even exist in this era and came decades later!

I am now led to believe we are discussing the previous site, located on the South Eastern corner of the racecourse, close to where the ovals are hoped to be installed and very close to Glenhuntly Station.

That is the area near the corner of Neerim Road and Queens Avenue.

I did a very rough map measure, which I am sure is wrong, but I got about 260000 square feet or more, which is plenty of room for what we want.

The Club is still working on a couple of issues, which are not insurmountable, so I look forward to the official update.

We have all been very patient with this project and hopefully there is some good news soon.

It’s nearly Christmas, and I am still waiting to hear confirmation of our move from colourful racing identities.

red, I suspect that caulfield station being a government designated development centre that the state government would prefer high-rise housing on the guineas carpark, right next door to the station ... think 10 stories

despite that the land is trust land designated for "recreation" usage
