Welcome to 2020 Supercoach  Demonlands Comp leagues. Free to join and play (just need a Demonland account, that is free as well)

Coach "Name" along with last years "Team" name (if you were in last years comp). I need that info to check what league you will be in for 2020.

If you have changed or want to change any of those details for 2020, post the info I will update it.

For those 1st timers, the comp is free to play, normally we have 3 comp leagues playing. As above, post your team name that you will be using, if you decide to change it,let me know so I know what team you are.

For those that qualified for Div 1 (Stynes League) you will receive your league code 1st,  you will need to join quickly so I can move onto Div 2 etc etc.

SC is open now, you can begin selecting your teams.

Ok,  go for it!   Coach / Team name    if you are playing this year.

Hi DeeVoted,

I'm interested for the comp again. Previous team name was The Tankers or just Tankers. This years team name is Deeztroy.

I have been in the Robbie Flower league previously but I think I joined late last year and was in the Barassi league. Thanks.

In again thanks. Docs Demons and not sure what comp I was in last year.. Cheers

Would like to have a go again. I didn't participate last year or I don't think the year before (?) in the Demonland SC comp but have done previously.

Team name is Megalomaniacs. Thanks.

Awesome, thanks DV!

Ruff's Nuts are keen to go around again, coach = Sasha.

Welcome Back.

I have you and Doc's Demons marked as confirmed.

Hi DV,

Thanks for starting this up again.  Was GAWN off TRACC! last year (which mirrored my SC and the MFC season) so will be changing it when I can think of something witty, positive and unique (so it may be a while...).  Team currently "Not Sure Yet"

Cheers, Stephen

Hi DV,

Team: Demi Dees

Coach: Stuart

Thanks for organising, it’s been a couple of years since I last played, so go easy on me.

Just an Update :

Ruffles + WIseblood have joined Div1.

Stephen + Demon Spofforth have been sent their code to join D1.

Everyone else that has confirmed in the thread so far, I have noted as starters. Will just have to bide their time until I get a better idea who returns from Div 1. (Keep checking this thread regularly, and your msg box)

Just a side note : badly worded on my part. It SHOULD read Post your Old USERNAME  (with name of your Team)

If you have changed both from the previous year. I have then have problems figuring out who is who.

(I dont require your Christian name.)

If you only change your team name, just post it I will do an update.  Thx.

d v

have you the league numbers up yet ??

thanks

Not yet. Got a few MIA's. I will give it to mid week, then everyone that has posted in here with confirmation will be sent a league code.

So if you have confirmed you want to play this year, a code for a league is not far away now.

Evening DeeVoted, I’m keen to play if a spot is open. I’ve also got a mate (he’s not on Demonland) who is keen to go if you need the numbers.

cheers

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
