Jacko reminds me of Fitzy when he first arrived at the club a few years back, with that massive mop of hair!

Could these also be their official numbers?

24 -Kysaiah Pickett

17 - Luke Jackson

20 - Trent Rivers

Almost certainly, although the jumper sizes would also fit very well with JKH, Frost and Maynard. We might operate just like local Footy, you get the number that fits!

Pickett really is small going by that picture.

He’s not tall but remember he’s standing between Greg Stanford and Matty Egan.Ā

no.24 would be so fitting for Pickett as an exciting demon forward. Hopefully adds to the previous highlights of Robbo/Jurrah in that jumper.

36 would be better, following Flash and Jeffy

I see your 36 and counter 33

Like Uncle Byron and the Wizard.

Thanks to those who gave feedback fromĀ training today?

There has been nothing on the Melbourne website.Ā

Who ever is in charge of the media at the needs to be shown the door.

And of course on the afl site the filth and the bogons seem to be the only two teams in the afl?

Next saty will be saying an interrupted preseason mightĀ negativelyĀ impact on Tomlinson's season.

Always depends on the player Oliver Ā interrupted pre season=joint winner B&F Ā  still think it is an excuse for full time professional athletes

But are they "full time" when they're doing under 50% of preseason?

Oscar may object.

Can't believe i forgot about Oskar! Needs a huge 2020.

Nope if you read the fine print, training times and locations are subject Ā to change without notice.

And if you read the next line:

. Please check this page on the morning of each session toĀ confirm the time and date.

I’m fine with them not even advertising regular sessions. But if they are going to do it they should get it right. Don’t bother with a members forum with fancy PowerPoints until you master the basics.Ā

I wonder what the reasoning for that is?

They finally reviewed that PF and saw what a team can do it it gets an hour's head start. What if WE do that, they thought. Train as you play.

I know you do. That's ok. Each to their own.

On Oliver, when 16 of the best 22 players have surgery pre season the best and fairest becomes a little easier to do well in.Ā

You also have the Players Association and some past players advocating Ā for a shorter pre season, which is exactly what those interruptees had

Which is correct?

So the player's desire for a longer off-seasonĀ is so that they don't need to call it aĀ surgeryĀ interrupted preseason?

Bit of a Stretch I would've thought.Ā

That's fine Saty. But last year the *other* clubs didn't have shorter pre-seasons.Ā Though even "shorter"Ā is a misnomer, it was largely non-existent for many, and thus the team as a unit, which more than anywhere else is where we paid the price.

Astonishing that someone who spends so much time watching training doesn't understand why they do it.

Imagine what he might have achieved with a full pre-season. Brownlow?

There's a MASSIVE difference between having a slightly longer break before you begin your proper preseason at full capacity; and having major surgery that means you can't even live your normal healthy lifestyle, let alone do any kind of football or fitness training (which they all do even during non-official training times) before carrying that injury through the rest of preseason as it impacts your preparation; not just for fitness, but for skills, connection with your team mates, learning of game plans and structures and of course new rules that change all of those things from the previous seasons.

Honestly, what a silly comment.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.Ā

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
