Finally Spargo might.

when is our intra club match? Can't seem to find any info about anything these days. I feel that our media guy has dropped the ball a bit for a while now.

On the weekend of 25/28 Feb  We play Tigers but it hasn't been confirmed a date or venue yet.

It has been advised by AFL with a website posting about 10 Days  ago Listing all the games and some confirmations.

So My Best 22 atm with our current injuries.

FB Hibberd May Lever

HB Salem Tomlinson Rivers

C Baker Viney Langdon

HF Harmes TMac Jackson

FF Pickett Fristch Hunt

R Gawn Oliver Petracca

B Vandenberg Sparrow Petty Jones

(This is assuming  Brayshaw isn't fit)

I would be playing Jones as a Forward Pockett.

I don't rate Melksham at all. applies no pressure and doesn't hit the scoreboard at all anymore!

Why Jacko at HFF?

Fritsch is not a FF but good elsewhere But KP

Hunt has been playing and training Down  back all pre season.
agree with you on Melksham

Rosman will beat Baker to wing  I reckon

would prefer Laurie or Bowey instead of AVB

Also Lockhart In to mind small forwards and give run and dare

Jonesy Agee in FP if selected

Spargo is also a very sure starter on training etc this pre season.

I rate him up forward. I like him more than Melksham.

You know it doesn't matter where players are named. its all a system.

You are probably right RE Rosman & Laurie/Bowie.

Yes good point DR but I still reckon that we start off from a base and the team develops strength from that logic and stability.

With Melksham now injured for a month at least too much of a risk to risk him  for round 1 that now makes it 4 players out in Hore, Weideman, Ben Brown and Melksham here is my new team.

HB: SALEM, TOMLINSON, RIVERS

C: LANGDON, PETRACCA, BAKER

HF: PICKETT, MCDONALD, SPARGO

F: FRITSCH, JACKSON, M.BROWN

FOLL: GAWN, OLIVER, VINEY

IC: HUNT, HARMES, BRAYSHAW, NEAL-BULLEN

EMERG: VANDENBERG, JONES, SPARROW, PETTY

CASEY

B: LOCKHART, J.SMITH, JETTA

HB: MUNRO, PETTY, BOWEY

C: ROSMAN, JONES, VANDENBERG

HF: LAURIE, WHITE, CHANDLER

F: BEDFORD, DAW, FARMER

It’s a busy job keeping your team updated Werridee. Hopefully no more injuries!

Pickett won’t be ready for Round 1 either I fear. He’ll have missed 5-6 weeks (possibly longer) which is a big chunk to catch-up on. Vandenberg to take his place in the 22 with ANB or possibly Harmes to take the HF spot.

With Pickett he's still training even though it's by himself I think he'll be right.

Way too early round 1 team:

FB: Rivers May Hunt
HB: Salem Tomlinson Lever
C; Langdon Petracca Rosman
HF: Spargo T Mc Laurie
FF: Chandler Jackson Fritsch
Foll: Gawn Oliver Harmes
Int: Lockhart, Viney, Sparrow, ANB

Pickett, Vanders, Gus, Hibberd, Melksham not considered at this stage due to injury/absence

Pretty good team DeeS.

Might need Mitch Brown in 22 for versatility instead of Chandler or ANB.

Would love Jordon in the 22 also but as long as we are giving chances to the youngsters who have earned their spots over the period and/or this pre season.

R1 -expected

B: Lever May Lockhart

HB: Hunt Tomlinson Rivers

C; Langdon Viney Salem

HF: Fritsch TMac Harmes

FF: Pickett Jackson Spargs

R: Gawn Oliver Petracca

INT: Sparrow Brayshaw Jordon Jones

E: MBrown Baker Jetta Rosman

R2 changes

OUT: TMac, Jordon, Lockhart, Hunt, Baker, Spargo

isnt that how it goes?

You expecting us to lose that's a lot of outs for round 2. You don't even have Baker in your round 1 team how can he be dropped when he isn't in the team in the first place.

this is obviously (current) mfcss worst case scenario with the likes of the confirmed outs - hore, weideman, b brown - being joined by the possible outs through current injury / lack of training in their legs - viney, brayshaw, hibberd, melksham, pickett

my mfcss is strong...

I’d like a third tall forward but Brown and T Mc are too similar as lead up half forwards, I wouldn’t play both. We’ll miss the potential upside of someone like Hannan, a mid sizer who can pressure and mark but I’d rather go small. Little guys can still compete in the air if they are smart.

I tossed up between Jordon and Sparrow but I think Sparrow’s got a bit more versatility to play forward and wing. Really keen to see both of them in practice games

I think that is pretty good for now, hoping a few of the newies can surprise and slot in as well. I am a fan of Brown on a forward flank but see you have Petty who I like too.

I am always interested in those that want Salem on a wing. What makes people think he is suited to a wing? Don’t we think that 2 years ago when we tried 10+ players there and no on suited there is a reason he was not one of them.

Defensive wingman; he’s named there but plays role of the 7th defender

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
