Levi Casboult

I’ve got to admit I don’t completely hate the idea. We played most of this season without a key forward, although it was due to Weideman and McDonald both being writeoffs. He’s limited for sure and capable of being completely hopeless, but he can take a grab and could be cheap insurance. If he ended up playing the whole season at Casey then so be it.

Could pretty easily be talked out if it though.

God no. Yeah he can clunk it but then what happens? No more guys who can't kick please.

And yet we're bringing in Langdon and looking at Sam Murray. Righto mate.

So we should get Casboult as well to add to the circus?

At least those guys offer run and carry and are in their early 20s. Casboult is 30 and offers nothing more than a good mark which Tomlinson will also provide

kicking for goal he meant mate. we have so many bad kicks for goal like petracca, gawn when resting fwd, weideman has good form but misses more than you'd like, spargo cant kick 40m and hunt is a bad kick. so yes, no casboult.

Lucky they’re only 23 and 23 respectively, fingers crossed their kicking can be corrected.

You can improve set shot kicking, but kicking on the run is far harder and in many cases impossible, as players revert to what they are used to when running and under pressure of being tackled.

Obviously some out on the fulls or failed to score but he's 15.11, 12.10 and 34.18 the last 3 years, I think he's a pretty solid shot for goal now, but he's also 29 and never cemented a permanent spot. Did play ok down back this year as well. We could do worse than him for the last tall depth spot, but I think he wants a 2 year deal and a chance to play.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
